While speaking with ABC News, Dumont, who was also with her own father, said she laid on top of her 11-year-old shielding her from the hail of bullets. Her father, a retired police officer, used tables and a bench to create a barricade for the other children to hide behind.

“My mother was laying on top of me,” Dumont’s daughter recalled. “It felt like it lasted a lifetime. I just remember people sobbing and crying.”

Zoe Levesque, who is just 10, was grazed by a bullet at the bowling alley. Her family let her speak to ABC News.

“I never thought I’d grow up and get a bullet in my leg,” she said. “Like, why do people do this? I was more worried about, like, am I going to live and going to make it out of here? Like, what’s going to happen? Are the cops going to come?”

Police have identified a person of interest as Robert Card. A manhunt is still underway.

ABC News reports that the Army has confirmed that Card hasn’t had any combat deployments.

There have been various reports in terms of the number of casualties so far. The number currently ranges from 15 to 22.

Authorities are still urging local residents to shelter in place. Schools and businesses alike have mostly remained closed on Thursday morning.

Chief Ryan McGee is urging all residents to call if they see anything out of the ordinary regarding the manhunt; “no tip is too small.” “If you see something in Lisbon, that is suspicious, I want you to call,” he added.
