13. “I think as a family you should sit down and grab some popsicle sticks. Everyone gets a different color, and they write down different activities they want to do. Maybe one kid wants to go hiking to a spot they’ve been hearing about from a friend, maybe one kid really wants to check out the new ride at x amusement park. Maybe your spouse wants to try paddleboarding. Have different categories or price ranges, so on Tuesday night, you can pick a stick and plan on doing that for the upcoming weekend. The. It alleviates the dread on you to come up with something, and also let’s you explore more of your children’s interests. Maybe in turn, you’ll find some things you actually like doing.”
12. “I chased my 12 and 7-year-old kids with the hose last night and we were cackling.”
11. “Take them geocaching!! It’s free and tons of fun. You can use your cell phone instead of a gps if you download the app!! Check it out WWW.geocaching.com. My kids and myself are at it all the time!!”
10. “If you have a white building or a place to hang a sheet, you could have a ‘drive in’ movie night with boxes as cars and put pillows and blankets in them.”

9. “If you live by a Six Flags theme park the season pass is a good value. Around $65 for adults, it pays for itself in 2 visits. You can leave the park and come back in, allowing you to eat a lunch stashed in a cooler in the car to save money on food. They’re required serve ice water for free inside the park for beverages on the cheap. They don’t let you bring loose items onto the rides. I always wear sneakers, otherwise depending on the ride you’ll need to sit on your flip flops. Or have the option to pay for a locker for your stuff or leave a person behind to hold it. Its easiest to have as little stuff on you as possible.”
8. “Scavenger hunts and photo scavenger hunts are great for kids of all ages. Scavenger hunts are where normal riddles clues take the kids to an object, then they find the next clue, which leads to another object (prize at the last object). Photo scavenger hunts are more for teams, but are fun and crazy photo challenges for teams to complete.”
7. “Lately…as silly as it sounds.. Pokemon Go. My kids love Pokemon, my family loves walks and getting out, and now my sister inlaws and their boyfriends go out with us. It’s a great way to walk and have something to “do”. And best of all, it’s free if you already have data and a smartphone.”
6. “Volunteering for a homeless charity can be a good way to fill a week day night. It’s pretty interesting, not to mention rewarding. Makes you appreciate what you have.”
5. “Painting rocks to be hid in neighbourhood parks.”
4. “Evening around the fire pit. S’mores and good conversations.”
3. “Pickleball, super fun and lots of courts popping up everywhere. Most med-large cities have a pickleball program to get started cheap.”
2. “Picnics and take a Frisbee to a park.”
