In a tragic story, a young boy was found on the steps of a Goodwill center in Southaven, Mississippi after being abandoned.
The two-year-old boy was found by store employees after an unidentified man left him there and walked away. He had just a note and a change of clothes with him when he was found. The note allegedly said, “child abandoned…no phone number for mom.”

According to the Southaven Police Department, the boy, who has not been identified, was abandoned at 9:40 a.m. on Monday. From the surveillance video, police saw that a man wearing black track pants and a black cowboy boot dropped the boy off and walked away. The video also shows a woman nearby who police believe was also involved.
The two were seen in a red vehicle at the time of the child abandonment, according to authorities.
The Southaven Police Department, Shelby County Sheriff’s Department and FBI worked identified and apprehended one suspect after receiving many tips.
“At this time the investigation is still ongoing, no suspect information or charges are being released,” Southaven Police Department Chief Macon Moore said in a statement. “We would like to thank all of the citizens who showed concern for the child, rest assured he is well, and being taken care of and will be reunited with family when CPS determines this is proper.”
“We would also like to thank all of the citizens who offered tips regarding the suspects in this case,” he continued. “The cooperation from the community and a unified effort from law enforcement led to the speedy apprehension of suspects.”
