Baby Boy Has a Name
Psalm (no middle name) West was born on May 9 at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles via surrogate. The new babe weighed in at 6 pounds, 9 ounces and was delivered by the same Dr. Crane who delivered Kim and Kanye’s older children, North, Chicago, and Saint.
First Photo of Psalm
On May 17, Kim shared the first photo of Psalm with the world via Instagram in a since-deleted post. (The photo is still up on her Twitter account and is embedded below.) But instead of making the world swoon, it caused a new Kardashian kontroversy. Thanks to an abundance of plush bedding, crib bumpers, and blankets, Psalm’s sleeping accommodations were deemed a SIDS nightmare and left medical experts and fans horrified. Kim apparently claims the photo was staged and that baby Psalm was never in any danger.
The Meaning Behind ‘Psalm’
As far as the latest celebrity baby names go, Psalm does not disappoint in its grandeur. Some are speculating that this religious moniker was influenced by Kanye’s Sunday Service and his dedication to his Christian faith.

Speaking of, the business mogul quickly filed to trademark the name “Psalm West,” ensuring that his future professional ventures are protected. In fact, we could see little Psalm’s name splashed all over an array of goods, including baby beauty products, toys, and even nutritional supplements. It seems inevitable!
Keeping Busy With the Other Kardashian-West Kids
Shaking off the hate after Psalm’s first photo debacle, Kim took her older children to Disneyland on May 22. The day of fun was designed to help her kids more easily transition to a family of four. Judging by the adorable pics of Kim and North holding hands in the most magical place on earth, we’d say it worked.
And Making Time for Romance
Soon after, Kim and Kanye stepped out for a date night. The parents of four celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary by dining at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica.
