People Just Can’t Stop Mom Shaming Chrissy Teigen for the Way She Parents Daughter Luna

Chrissy Teigen is known for her perfect comebacks to mom shaming comments directed at her on social media. It seems like no matter what she posts, she finds herself in a position to defend her parenting choices at least once a day.

Most recently, Teigen shared a video of her and her daughter, 3-year-old Luna, hanging out in their living room and watching Sesame Street. During the video, Luna takes the opportunity to show off her adorable hot pink toenails. Teigen captioned the video, “Doing her nails is my knitting. Kid toes kill me!”

Chrissy Teigen vs. The Anti-Nail Polish Brigade of Mom Shamers

Some of the commenters judged Teigen for putting nail polish on her daughter, pointing out it has dangerous toxins that kids shouldn’t be exposed to. Teigen snapped back in one reply, “Well I actually had her drink it so joke’s on you.” She has since deleted that tweet, as well as another reply, “there she is.”

Fortunately, the majority of her fans were totally on board with the painting Luna’s nails and encouraged Chrissy to continue to stand up for herself against shamers. @evilyn77 said, “Omg her little bitty toes! Cherish these little moments” and @ljagar528 said, “Enjoy everyday, daughters are so fun at that age☺”

Luna Had First Trip to the Dentist and Everyone Had an Opinion

Earlier last month, Teigen encountered some backlash after posting a video of Luna at the dentist, with some commenters saying she should have taken her to the dentist earlier. Just like in the previous case, most of her fans applauded her parenting choices, with many noting they were told by their pediatrician to not go to the dentist until at least age three. As always, Teigen was ready with a perfectly composed comeback.

Her followers did not shy away from sharing all their feelings about her three-year-old’s time in the dentist’s chair. “What age do they start over there? My daughter started seeing a dentist at a yr old,” one follower noted. Teigen didn’t hesitate to respond, saying “Was waiting for this. U guys never fail me.”

Luckily, lots of fans came to Teigen’s defense. “I am a dentist! I am ALWAYS happy to see loving parents bring their children to my office, and actually show enthusiasm about their children’s oral health. Kudos Chrissy!,” said @tracijdantzler. “Aww, so cute. By the way, recommended age for first visit is 3 yrs. I know because I was in dentistry field for 31 yrs. If a toddler goes sooner, must be a problem,” said @surfergirl1369

While she always makes sure to directly address mom shamers, Teigen admitted that the criticism does affect her. “It definitely gets to me,” she shared on Today this fall. “Certain days it gets to me more than other days. And I realized if I read Twitter too early when I wake up, I tend to be like, a little more moody with it and things get to me more.”
