Shay Mitchell is pregnant with her first child! The Pretty Little Liars actress, 32, revealed the exciting news via Instagram and YouTube last Friday. She captioned the Instagram pic of herself and her burgeoning belly, “Does this mean I’m allowed to dive in the carpool lane at all times now?”
Her fans were overjoyed with news, including Mitchell’s PLL co-stars, Ashley Benson who said, “I love you my girl. I can’t wait,” and Troian Bellisario who exclaimed, “YAS queen! I am so excited to be a mama with you and welcome this beautiful babe to the world!”

The actress, who is dating Matt Babel, 38, went into more detail about her news in her YouTube video, titled “Guess Who’s Preggers.” She shared how she felt about being pregnant and even took viewers into the doctor’s office to see an ultrasound.
Babel also shared the news via his Instagram. He captioned a beautiful picture of Mitchell, “Watching both of you grow over the past 6 months has been the most beautiful thing in the world. The strength, vulnerability and grace you’ve had during this pregnancy has left me in awe, you’re going to be an incredible mom…We’re lucky to have you, love you.”
“We’re beyond excited and looking forward to starting a family,” Mitchell shared during the two-minute YouTube clip. “I’ve learned so much about myself and parenthood over the past 6 months, and feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface! It’s going to be a wild ride!!”
The pregnancy news comes six months after Mitchell opened up about suffering a miscarriage in 2018. In an Instagram story posted at the beginning of the year, Mitchell shared a photo of an ultrasound with a broken heart emoji. She referred to it as one of her “darkest days” and went on to say, “Lastly, although it was an amazing year, it didn’t come without some hardships.”
Congratulations, mama-to-be! We’re so glad you overcame your hardships and are on the other side. Can’t wait to see photos of that baby!
