Just as things start going well for Jenelle Evans, another Teen Mom star finds herself in a troubling situation. Amber Portwood was arrested for domestic battery late last week.
“Just after 3:00 a.m., on July 5, officers were called to [address] reference a disturbance. Officers spoke to the male victim [Andrew Glennon] who stated his live-in-girlfriend and he were having a disagreement. During which time the female, later identified as Amber Portwood assaulted him, while he was holding their one-year-old child,” a spokesperson for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) revealed in a statement.
The spokesperson for the police department did not indicate whether or not Portwood entered a plea deal, had an attorney present, or was still being held, according to FOX News.
In the dispatch audio obtained by TMZ, Glennon claimed he and his child’s lives were in danger. Because a child was on the scene at the time of the incident, the police contacted Child Protective Services.
Jenelle Evans Jumps in the Mix
Portwood’s former Teen Mom co-star, Jenelle Evans, went on social media to kick Portwood while she was down. The troubled mom, who just regained custody of her three kids, posted several links to stories reporting Portwood’s arrest, saying, “All I have to say is at least I learn from past mistakes.”
Evans’ followers were not impressed with her unsolicited commentary. “Oh really? Is that why your kids were taken out of your care? You still put men before your kids,” one commenter said.
This is not the first time Portwood has had a run-in with police. In 2012, she went to prison for 17 months for violating probation in a drug possession case. She has also recently been open about suffering from mental illness and attending therapy on her own, as well as with Glennon by her side.
Portwood and Glennon first met on MTV’s Marriage Boot Camp: Family Edition in 2017. In addition to her son with Glennon, Portwood has a daughter, Leah, with her ex Gary Shirley.
Portwood has most recently appeared on Teen Mom OG. During a recent episode, Portwood shared a pregnancy scare and hinted that she and Glennon may soon get married.
