Amber Portwood Wins Court Battle to See Son James After Showing Up With ‘Teen Mom’ Co-Stars by Her Side

After a month of drama, including getting arrested for threatening her boyfriend, Andrew Glennon, with a machete, Amber Portwood finally appeared in court to fight the charges against her – and she wasn’t alone. Amber’s former Teen Mom co-stars and friends Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell, and Cheyenne Floyd were there by her side. Turns out they were good luck charms, as Amber Portwood came out victorious in this particular court battle.

Ex-Gary Shirley, her mother Tonya, and producers of Teen Mom OG were also in court to support Amber.

Amber arrived in court wearing all black with her hair in a high bun. She left court with good news following her appearance last Thursday.

As reported by RadarOnline, the judge lifted her no-contact order so that she can now see her one-year-old son James. However, Glennon’s no-contact order is still in place.

The Clerk of Court for the Indiana courthouse shared with RadarOnline that “she has supervised visits only for the child.” The exact terms of the visitation will be settled at a future Child In Need of Services hearing. Amber has only seen her son once since July 5, the date she was arrested.

Amber was charged with one count domestic battery, a felony count of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and a felony count of domestic battery after allegedly throwing a shoe at Andrew and threatening him with a machete.

On July 9, Andrew filed to request sole custody of their son, though he asked for Amber to have supervised visitation. According to RadarOnline, the court papers said, “Father believes Mother is currently unable to provide a safe, stable and secure environment for James on an ongoing basis due to her frequent refusal and/or failure to take medicines prescribed to treat her mental-health conditions, among other concerns.”

No additional court dates have been announced, but expect updates soon. According to RadarOnline, the court battle will continue, with photo and video evidence of Amber’s alleged assault against Glennon being brought forward.

What do you think of Amber Portwood’s court battle victory? Do you think she should have visitation rights restored after her highly-publicized attack against Andrew Glennon with a machete? Sound off in the comments!
