WATCH: Princess Charlotte Got Cheeky at a Royal Event, and Kate Middleton’s Reaction Was Pure Mom

Prince George may be an Instagram legend for his sassy facial expressions, but Princess Charlotte recently outshone her brother with her own hilarious reaction during a royal family outing.

Kate Middleton and Prince William were competing in a charity sailing race (The King’s Cup), while Princess Charlotte and Prince George watched from the sidelines with their grandparents, Mike and Carole Middleton. The royal siblings donned nautical-themed outfits, complete with a captain’s hat for Prince George.

Eight boats participated in the race, each supporting a different charity chosen by Kate and Prince William.

After the competition was complete, Kate brought the kids to the window above the stage while they handed out the awards. Charlotte didn’t seem to be enjoying the event; instead of waving to the fans, she stuck out her tongue. Just like every slightly-embarrassed mom before her, Kate quickly jumped in and tried to stop her to no avail.

Prince George, perhaps accustomed to his sister’s antics, left the area and headed downstairs.

Some may remember that Princess Charlotte has a habit of sticking out her tongue during photo ops. She did so during Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding while waiting for a car outside of St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

This certainly isn’t the first time Kate has had to calm down her kids in public. She may be a royal, but she’s a mom first, often finding herself having to comfort or discipline her children in the middle of events, photo ops and more. She may be the Duchess of Cambridge, but she’s still relatable.
