Alanis Morissette Shares Powerful Breastfeeding Image Shortly After Welcoming Third Child

In the past few years, there’s been a breastfeeding moment, with moms sharing images of themselves breastfeeding in public, as well as their personal breastfeeding journeys. This month marks World Breastfeeding Month and Alanis Morissette, 45, recently shared a picture on Instagram of her breastfeeding her newborn son, Winter Mercy Morissette-Treadway, to draw attention to breastfeeding and join the conversation.

She captioned the pic, “Snug as a bug in a milky rug. #worldbreastfeedingmonth #notalwayseasypeasy.” She also tagged Stop Censoring Motherhood, Normalize Breastfeeding Official, and The Badass Breastfeeder.

Alanis and her husband, Mario “Souleye” Treadway, welcomed their third child on August 8. Both mom and dad shard a black and white image of the newborn with sweet captions. “@alanis You will forever be my heroine. thank you for your warrior strength and ability to so deeply love,” Mario wrote in his caption.

“He’s here,” Alanis captioned hers, along with the reveal of his name and a hashtagged version of the sentence, “My whole life I dreamed of loving you three.”

All three of Alanis’ children were born at home. In addition to Winter, the couple are parents to Onyx Solace, 3, and Ever Imre, 8.

Alanis initially shared her baby news in late March with a black and white photo of herself and her baby bump in the studio. “So much NEWness…” she captioned the pic. In addition to welcoming a new baby, Alanis has been working on a new album.

A big year for Alanis, to be sure! Congrats, mama!
