Tiny Alabama Town Rocked by 14-Year-Old Who Murdered Entire Family, Including Young Three Siblings

A community in Alabama is reeling after a 14-year-old boy admitted to shooting and killing his family earlier this month. The murders have rocked the tiny community of Elkmont, Alabama.

According to the Limestone County sheriff’s office, the boy called 911 at around 11 p.m. the evening of Monday, Sept. 2. When authorities arrived on the scene, the boy was in the driveway and claimed that he had heard gunshots upstairs. After police spoke to him further, he confessed he was the one who pulled the trigger.

14-Year-Old Alabama Boy Confesses to Family Murders

“Upon being confronted with some of the inconsistencies, he did admit to shooting the five family members. All five were family members and all five lived in the residence,” said Stephen Young, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.

The victims of the shooting are the boy’s father, John Wayne Sisk, 38; stepmother, Mary Sisk, 35; and his three siblings, a 6-year-old boy, 5-year-old girl, and a 6-month-old boy.

Young reported that the boy faces murder charges and is currently being held in a juvenile detention center. He could face adult charges, including capital murder.

The police did not share a motive for the killings.

The family lived in Elkmont, a small town of just 500 residents, located on the Alabama-Tennessee border.

“This is a community that has a lot of healing to do right now,” Young said.

“The whole town is just shaken by it,” Elkmont Mayor Tracy Compton told The Associated Press.  “It is just total shock and disbelief. It’s hard to process.”
