The Gosselin girls are headed to college!

On a recent episode of Kate Plus 8, twins Mady and Cara went on a college tour with mom Kate Gosselin. Where they will ultimately go to college isn’t being shared due to privacy concerns, but both girls expressed they hoped to go to different schools to gain some independence from their family and one another.

“College feels like a place to blend in and I feel like we haven’t really had much of a chance to really blend in and I want to be just like somebody. I don’t want to know everyone’s name and I don’t want to know everybody’s business and I don’t want everyone to know my name and my business,” Mady shared during a testimonial on the show. “I feel like a big college is the way we want to go.”

While the episode aired, Kate posted on Instagram, reflecting her girls’ big transition. “Times have been so tough and so needlessly unfair for [the girls]. Despite it all, they’ve turned out to be such wonderful human beings.”

She continued, “I cannot wait to see what lies ahead for each of them once they get away from those who have tried to destroy them versus protect them. #KatePlus8 @tlc.”

Kate also spoke briefly about her older daughter, Hannah, who is currently living with her dad, Jon Gosselin. “It’s not optimal for mom, but it’s something that I support and you know, we adjust and move on,” she said about her daughter’s choice to live with her father.

“I’m grateful for two almost college student who have such good heads on their shoulders,” Kate continued. “[They] are so mart and level headed and they work so hard in school.”
