Farrah Abraham Opens Up About Her Decision to Put Daughter Sophia in Therapy Over the Death of Her Father, Life in the Public Eye

Farrah Abraham’s daughter Sophia ever met her father, who died in a car accident when Farrah was eight months pregnant.

Farrah, though, recently revealed that she and Sophia (10) have been in therapy for years to work through the difficult emotions surrounding that loss.

Farrah appeared on Heather McDonald’s Juicy Scoop podcast and shared, “We do a lot of family therapy because of her not having father and also being in the public eye.”

She also told McDonald that Sophia is currently doing online schooling, in part to avoid bullies. However, Farrah revealed, it doesn’t stop Sophia from facing criticism.

“She gets so much hate for being online schooled or homeschooled,” she told McDonald. “Sophia doesn’t pay attention to cyber bullying. She is just totally overcoming it.”

“She gets so much hate and it’s so crazy,” Farrah continued. “Whatever works for Sophia for making her feel strong, that’s what I’m about.”

Farrah is currently single, but revealed she’s open to having more children and would consider adoption.

“I’ve always been open to adopting so there’s a lot of good you can do there,” she said. “Sophia is open to adoption. I can do anything on my own.”

Farrah has faced many ups and downs, much of which has been captured by TV cameras for different reality TV shows.

“From being a teen who’s pregnant, trying to graduate high school early, start college early…there was just so much change that went on during those eight months I was pregnant,” Farrah shared during the interview. “When Sophia popped out, my whole life was different so it was dramatic for me.”

We’re glad to see Farrah Abraham doing right by her daughter. Taking her to therapy is a wise idea, given their public life and the loss of Sophia’s father.
