It was a big day for one little prince! Prince Louis celebrated his third birthday and recently attended his first day of preschool. Proud parents Prince William and Kate Middleton marked the occasion with a charming photo of their beaming son which was shared on Thursday.
The photo shows Louis dressed in his school uniform and perched on a bicycle ready to learn at his first day of school.

“Three tomorrow!” the photo of Prince Louis is captioned. It shows the little boy, who is all smiles, wearing a backpack and straddling a tiny bicycle.
The caption goes on to explain that the photo had been “taken earlier this week by The Duchess before he left for his first day of nursery, The Duke and Duchess are pleased to share a new image of Prince Louis.”
We also learned details of where the child will attend school.
Young Prince Louis is attending London’s Willcocks Nursery School, the same school big sister Princess Charlotte attended, People reports.
An insider told the outlet “They chose that nursery because they thought it would be an ideal first step for Charlotte’s education, and they were impressed by the team who work there.”
It’s reportedly a great fit for the family as Princess Charlotte and Prince George attend nearby Thomas’s Battersea Day School.
The photo of Louis keeps with Kate Middleton’s tradition of sharing photos of her children’s first days of school publicly. Charlotte started Willcocks Nursery School in January 2018, while George headed to preschool at the Westacre Montessori School in Norfolk in January 2016. Louis’ delayed start date was likely caused by the latest lockdown in the UK amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The last time we saw photos with a spotlight on little Louis was for his second birthday.
Prince William and Kate Middleton shared portraits of their youngest child that show the tot finger painting and grinning ear-to-ear. The finger painting Prince Louis did for his second birthday was done in support of the National Health Service (NHS) workers who labored through a very difficult spring last year combatting the coronavirus pandemic.
It seems that the Duke and Duchess are preparing their children for royal duties with at a very early age. They assembled all three of their progeny to “Clap for Carers” and shared a video of them participating in thanking healthcare workers across the UK.
The Cambridge kids also made their red carpet debut in December during a night out at the theater when they attended a traditional Christmas Pantomime together. The National Lottery’s Pantoland at The Palladium was held in 2020, again, to thank “key workers and their families.”
We were so pleased to see Prince Louis on his third birthday! We hope he’s enjoying his early days in nursery school and plenty more finger painting.
