Piers Morgan is speaking out against Meghan Markle yet again in an interview for Australia’s 60 Minutes. While talking with Karl Stefanovic, Morgan opened up even more about his alleged “feud” with Markle.
According to Morgan and Fox News, it all started when Morgan and Markle were reportedly on their way to becoming friends in 2015. Morgan claims that he and the Duchess of Sussex began communicating after they had both followed each other on Twitter.
However, after Markle traveled to England, a place she had frequented even before meeting Harry, to meet Morgan for a drink, the Duchess reportedly “ghosted” him. Morgan claims the night they met up for drinks was the same night she met her now-husband, Prince Harry.
And Morgan is seemingly still not over their “fall out.” During his interview with Stefanovic, Morgan said that he doesn’t “believe a word [Markle] says.” He went on to point out something she said during her March interview with Oprah Winfrey to explain way he doesn’t believe her.
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Markle told Oprah that she and Harry had gotten married three days before their internationally televised wedding. “We called the archbishop and we just said, look, this thing, this spectacle is for the world, but we want our union between us. So the vows that we have framed in our room are just the two of us in our backyard with the archbishop of Canterbury.”
However, the Archbishop of Canterbury confirmed that he legally married Meghan and Harry on May 19, 2018, at Windsor Castle and said that he would have committed a serious criminal offense if he had knowingly signed a false document. But he never disclosed what occurred while meeting with the couple in the days leading up to their big wedding.
“I won’t say what happened at any other meetings,” Justin Welby, the head of the Church of England, told La Repubblica, after adding that he had “a number of private and pastoral meetings with the duke and duchess before the wedding.”
Piers Morgan went on to comment on Markle’s marriage remarks, saying, “They were downright lies. That [ceremony] would make the archbishop of Canterbury a criminal.”
Stefanovic, who has defended Meghan in the past, especially when it came to Morgan’s comments about her, went on to call Morgan “just an angry old man,” the Daily Mail reported.
“I don’t know how his poor co-host puts up with it,” Stefanovic once said in response to Morgan’s on-air antics. “Imagine putting up with a dude like that who is so up himself and so egotistical that he would assume to say those things about her. It’s disgusting. You wouldn’t put up with it. He needs to go. He’s off the mark here.”
Morgan is seen further alleging that Markle was the reason he was fired from his hosting job. “Meghan had personally complained to the boss of my company.”
“Freedom of speech is more important than the Meghan Markle debacle,” Morgan also said, before telling people to take a “chill pill.” To which Stefanovic replied, “Are you going to take one?”
