Allison Mack, the Smallville actress who operated a leadership role in the former sex cult Nxivm, was sentenced to three years in federal prison this week after pleading guilty to racketeering conspiracy and racketeering charges in 2019.
Mack ran an abusive “secret society” within Nxivm called D.O.S. that served the cult’s leader, Keith Raniere. As a “master,” she recruited women to D.O.S. by describing it as a women’s empowerment group, and would then groom them to become Raniere’s sexual partners.
In addition to the three-year prison sentence, the judge ordered her pay a $20,000 fine.
Actress Jessica Joan, a victim of Mack’s abuse, spoke out against her during Wednesday’s hearing at a U.S. District Court in Brooklyn, N.Y.
“She is the Ghislaine Maxwell to Keith’s Jeffrey Epstein,” Joan said during her victim impact statement, which also explained the abuse she endured.
Following her courtroom appearance, Joan informed reporters how she did not feel heard by Mack during her statement.

“Honestly, her eyes looked dead,” Joan said outside the courthouse. “It was very much that feeling of a sociopath where she wasn’t actually able to receive what I was saying.”
She added how Mack is a “monster” who “created so much harm” for her victims.
“I respect the judge’s decision, I know he had a lot to grapple with, but me personally, I don’t feel the remorse from her,” Joan said. She later added: “I do pray that one day she can see the light, but I don’t think that was today.”
The daughter of former Dynasty star Catherine Oxenberg, India Oxenberg, has also spoken out on the sentencing of Mack.

“I’m still in a state of disbelief, but I trust and honor the judge’s decision. I hope that her victims, including myself, feel vindicated and safer, given that she has denounced Keith Raniere. We all need time to process and digest everything. This is a big moment for all of us,” India says in a statement.
Her mother, Catherine, added: “I concur with everything India said. I do believe people deserve a second chance, and Allison has shown remorse for her actions.”
In a statement read in court, Mack said, “I am sorry to those of you that I brought into NXIVM. I am sorry I ever exposed you to the nefarious and emotionally abusive schemes of a twisted man.”
India said of Raniere in an interview with THR just after Raniere’s sentencing, “He tries to mask and manipulate and get people to believe his lies. I know that he’s a sociopath. He cannot feel and he doesn’t feel remorse and he doesn’t feel empathy for any of the women.
