Michelle Branch is pregnant with baby no.3!
“You know you’re pregnant when…” the 38-year-old began in an Instagram caption next to her baking scones.
“Woke up to a picture my friend Sonya sent of scones she was eating in England and I immediately had to hop out of bed and make a batch myself,” she wrote, adding how her husband, Patrick Carney, was her “hero” as he searched for double cream at the store.
Branch admitted she “couldn’t be more excited” to welcome her third child but also nervous. This will be her second child with Carney.
“Hello, pregnancy after miscarriage anyone?!” she wrote, revealing her due date is in early 2022.

“Just when we were rounding third and heading home (A baseball metaphor?! I know.) 2020 was like, ‘nah, I ain’t done yet,’” she said. “December decided to really finish us off with a bang! No, literally. A bomb went off in downtown Nashville yesterday. And to further twist a dagger in my heart, I experienced my first miscarriage…”
She revealed that she felt supported by celebrating the holidays with her family.

“But alas, between the crying and binge eating of Christmas cookies, I decided to put on lipstick and a dress,” she said. “We drank champagne alllll day. Made an incredible meal and sang Christmas songs snuggled up by a roaring fire.”
Branch and Carney got engaged in 2017 and had their first child, Rhys in 2018. They married in 2019.
She also shares 16-year-old daughter Owen with her first husband Teddy Landau.

When speaking on her relationship with her ex-husband, Landau — she admits he is “wonderful.”
In April of 2017, she spoke to PEOPLE about co-parenting with Landau. “I luckily have a very wonderful ex-husband, and I can say that, and I know a lot of people in my shoes can’t,” Branch said.
“Everyone enters a relationship with the best of intentions, and we grew apart,” she continued. “Having our daughter together was really the balancing factor when everything was kind of coming to a close. It was easy to focus on her and worry about how she felt and making it normal for her; it allowed us not to get too caught up in our own s—.”
