With the Christmas season in full force, you may be gearing up to or have already watched the cult Holiday classic that is the Home Alone franchise. Because if your family is like my family, it’s not the holiday season without watching some of the classic Christmas movies.
Sadly, this holiday season, one of the Home Alone actors has reportedly been arrested. As People reports, Devin Ratray, who portrayed Kevin’s older brother, Buzz McCallister, was arrested on December 22 more than a week after he reportedly attempted to strangle his girlfriend.
According to People, the 44-year-old former Home Alone actor has now been charged with one count of domestic assault and battery by strangulation and another count of domestic assault and battery. The warrant for his arrest was issued on December 21 and Ratray turned himself in the next day.

In a statement given to Fox News, after turning himself in, Ratray was then “processed through and bonded out” after his bond was set at $25,000, the authorities revealed. According to KFOR, Ratray was under the influence of alcohol when the domestic assault incident occurred.
According to Ratray’s girlfriend’s account of the situation, they were at a Christmas convention on December 4 and 5 when the actor “drank a bottle of wine and over 10 shots of booze in two different locations. The two reportedly got into an argument at a bar when Ratray became upset that his girlfriend did not charge a pair of fans for autograph cards.”

As KFOR continued, the girlfriend said they left the bar and returned to their hotel room where the argument continued. The argument then turned physical when Ratray “allegedly pushed his girlfriend onto their bed, placing one hand on her throat and another on her mouth as he allegedly applied pressure.”
During the assault, Ratray reportedly told his girlfriend, “This is how you die.” The report continued, “[The] victim had trouble breathing while she was being strangled and while the defendant’s hand was over her mouth.”
Although she couldn’t scream for help, the girlfriend managed to bite Ratray’s hand. He stopped choking her only to allegedly punch his girlfriend in the face.
The woman managed to escape the hotel room but later returned for her personal items. When she returned, Ratray attempted to continue the assault by allegedly throwing her into the desk that was in the hotel room.
The report further documented that the woman showed signs of bruising and several other injuries that coincide with her version of events. Ratray has not yet issued a statement.
