Chris Noth has reportedly been edited out of the season finale of And Just Like That, after sexual assault allegations from multiple women.
Mr. Big, played by Chris, was slated to make a final cameo in the season finale, airing on Feb. 3, despite being killed off in the first episode of the revival.
The final episode was expected to include a moment where Big would appear beside the iconic character, Carrie – played by Sarah Jessica Parker, while she scattered his ashes from the famed Pont des Arts in Paris, where the couple once shared a romantic moment in the original series.
But due to the sexual assault allegations against Noth, the show’s creators decided to cut the cameo, which was not an integral part of the wider narrative, according to sources.
The first woman, using the pseudonym Zoe, met Noth just after moving to Los Angeles at age 22, while she was working at a “high-profile” firm that did business with celebrities in 2004. She claimed he eventually raped her at a hotel when she swung by to drop of a borrowed book from Noth.
“For so many years, I buried it,” she said, adding that she thought it was time “to try to go public with who he is.”
“The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false,” Noth said in a statement. “These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”
The second woman, Lily, shared that she met Noth in 2015 at a New York City bar where she worked as a server. Lily, 25 at the time, recalled how Noth invited her out to dinner and she accepted. And after dinner, the two went to his apartment, where he would later rape her. Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristen Davis released a joint statement on social media on December 20.
“We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth. We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”
