Demi Lovato completed another rehab program just this past year.
It has been revealed by a source how they have since returned home from the treatment facility. And since, they have been maintaining their sobriety and mental health following their 2018 near-fatal drug overdose.
“Demi is committed to their well-being, and throughout their life, they plan to do regular check-ins to make sure they are putting themselves first,” the insider says.
Demi, 29, went to rehab for the first time in late 2010 before living in a sober-living facility in 2012. Demi then entered another in-patient program after their 2018 overdose.
Lovato shared last year in their YouTube docuseries Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil how they still drank and smoked marijuana in moderation after their overdose.

But just last month, they announced that they’ve since denounced their “California sober” lifestyle.
“I no longer support my ‘California sober’ ways,” Lovato wrote on their Instagram Story. “Sober sober is the only way to be.”
This past summer, Lala Kent expressed their disapporval of Lovato‘s take on sobriety. In a recent appearance on the “Behind the Velvet Rope” podcast, the “Vanderpump Rules” star, 30, said she does not agree that a person who smokes marijuana and drinks alcohol can identify as sober.
“I don’t like to judge, but I actually think that that’s super offensive,” Kent told the podcast’s host, David Yontef. “You know, there are people out there who work their a– off to never take themselves out of reality and to never place themselves in an altered state. You know, they don’t even, when they have a cold, take DayQuil or NyQuil.”
Kent, who celebrated two years of sobriety this past fall added, “So to say that you’re, like, ‘California sober’ or this type of sober is extremely offensive, I think.”
Elton John, who has been sober for over 30 years, also found fault in the fellow singer’s logic said: “Sorry — if you drink, you’re going to drink more. If you take a pill, you’re going to take another one. You either do it or you don’t.”
Lovato revealed how they had “brain damage” after suffering three strokes and a heart attack amid their overdose however, shared that they “wouldn’t change a thing” and they’re “so proud of the person I am today.”
“Everything had to happen in order for me to learn the lessons that I learned,” Lovato said. “It was a painful journey, and I look back and sometimes I get sad when I think of the pain that I had to endure to overcome what I have, but I don’t regret anything.”
