On May 8, Christina Hall revealed that her son Brayden, whom she shares with her first husband and former business partner Tarek El Moussa, was rushed to the hospital. According to Hall’s Instagram post, Brayden had an “emergency appendectomy as well as [the] removal of Meckel’s diverticulum.”
She called the particularly difficult moment a “scary 12 hours for us parents + step-parents. … Nothing like seeing your child in excruciating pain,” Hall continued.

According to the Mayo Clinic, appendectomies—removing a person’s appendix—are fairly common. And as the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia reveals, the “Meckel’s diverticulum is a small pouch in the wall of the intestine, near the junction of the small and large intestines. The pouch is a remnant of tissue from the prenatal development of the digestive system.”
Thankfully, as Hall revealed in her post, Brayden is recovering well after a successful surgery. She said her son was in “good spirits” before thanking the hospital staff for being “amazing.”
Hall then took to her story to praise her and Tarek’s co-parenting relationship. “Stressful 24 hours but a good reminder how important teamwork, co-parenting is,” Hall wrote.
“We are all under pressure but when it really matters we were all there for Brayden doing our part. Sometimes a scary situation can be a good wake-up call. In the end, all the other stuff is just ‘noise,’ what matters is the kids,” Hall continued while tagging her husband Josh Hall, and Tarek’s wife, Heather Young.
Young also shared similar sentiments on her Instagram Story too, which Hall shared. Young wrote, “We just left little man. He’s in pain but he’s a strong boy and he’s getting discharged today. We all pulled together as a family during this stressful time. The kids will always be the main priority to all of us!”
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Hall has had to deal with a lot these last couple of weeks. Her second husband, Ant Anstead—with who she shares a son, Hudson—filed for emergency full custody of their son, citing that he has been his primary caregiver despite their split custody agreement.
A judge denied Anstead’s emergency request but a court hearing has been set for June. In her initial statement regarding the custody battle, Halls said, “What Ant is doing deeply saddens me. If this was really about Hudson, as he says, this should have been handled privately with a private judge or mediation, as myself and my attorney have suggested. I have had my share of ups and downs but I am a good mom and I love my children with all my heart and I will always protect them.”

Following Brayden’s hospital stay, Hall shared a photo of all three of her children, including Hudson, on the couch while Brayden continues his recovery. What’s next for the exes remains unclear.
