“Listen… parents are superheroes.” Have truer words ever been spoken? Honestly, where would we be if our parents didn’t stick it out through the toughest of times when raising us?
Actress and mom Alexa PenaVega, best known for her role in Spy Kids, and her husband Carlos PenaVega have recently become the parents of two. And in a video shared to her Instagram page, Alexa revealed how she’s adjusting to life with two kids.

In the video, the actress says, “So, here’s my current situation,” as her two boys scream in the background. Alexa went on to say that she was in the process of trying to get everybody fed, while unloading the groceries, and attempting to prepare a meal for her and Carlos to eat.
But as the screaming continued, Alexa just closed her eyes, saying, “Holy Moly, this is when you just pray to Jesus.” She later added:
“Listen… parents are superheroes. How we all manage to pull it together and figure it out is beyond amazing. Thank you, Jesus. This video happened while we were away filming. To set it up… I had just arrived home from set plus a grocery store run… Los was still on set filming (so I was outnumbered)… We were running on about four hours of sleep and the kids were falling apart and were not afraid to show it. We were all hungry and messy and exhausted!”
Alexa went on to write that when Carlos finally got home, he could tell it was a stressful evening without him there to help. He could also tell because the kids were still screaming when he got home.
“When Los got home he walked in and just held me in the kitchen for a solid three minutes and didn’t let go. (P.s. Three minutes is forever when kids are screaming) We prayed. We laughed. We were in this together. It is now one of my favorite moments in our marriage. It’s funny how in the moments of chaos/“pressure”… diamonds appear.”
And hundreds of other moms reached out to Alexa, letting know she’s not alone. One mom wrote, “Ugh I know that scene all too well mama. Parenting is no joke. Two kids are no joke. But what blessings it all is. You gotta be able to laugh about the chaos together. You guys are such amazing parents!”
Another added, “My everyday struggle..we got this Lex!! We are superheroes after all…” And one more said, “So glad you have one another! As for all the single mamas out there who do it all on their own… here’s a hug for each and every one of you!!”
