Blake Shelton’s Replacement on The Voice Revealed!

It’s official! We now know the name of who will replace Blake Shelton on The Voice, and she’s even more popular than he is!

For fans of The Voice, Shelton’s replacement is a familiar face, in fact, she’s been involved in this current season as well. Have you placed your guess yet?

If you are thinking it’s Reba McEntire, then you’d be right! How exciting is that!

The Voice has seen 20 different artists appear as coaches and/or advisors over the past 12 years, but only one of those artists has been there for all 23 seasons – Blake Shelton. Unfortunately for those who enjoy seeing him on the show, Shelton is calling it quits after this upcoming season – “It’s time,” he says.

He previously made the announcement in October 2022. “This show has changed my life in every way for the better, and it will always feel like home to me. It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns, and I want to thank everyone at The Voice,’ he revealed in a statement posted to Instagram.

On Monday, Shelton sat down with his fellow coaches for the upcoming season – Kelly Clarkson, Niall Horan, and Chance the Rapper – for an interview with Carson Daly, the host, and producer of the show since day one. The first question he asked Shelton was when he made the decision to leave and why.

“I think I was close to calling it a day right when COVID hit. And then, because of COVID, I didn’t want to walk away from the show and leave everybody in a bind. I mean, this show changed my life. I’ll stay here until the world kind of gets back to normal again,” the former CMT Artist of the Year admitted to Daly.

He was also asked whether there’s anything the current cast can do to keep him on the show past the 23rd season – which is clearly a hard no, but he did joke that Kelly not being on the show might make him change his mind. Don’t worry, it was all fun and games because they have a very tight-knit relationship.

Perhaps the best soundbite from the interview came when he was asked what the show has meant to him and what it has done for him over the past 12 years. “I met my wife on this show. It’s changed my life in every way it possibly can, from a personal standpoint,” he said, but it also changed his professional career.

He admitted that his life was basically ‘turned upside down’ since joining the show – in a good way. He called the experience ‘incredible’ but also admitted that ‘it’s time.’ As for what’s next, Blake Shelton said he isn’t really focused on what’s next and, instead, is looking forward to ‘a little bit of nothing’ in his life.

Blake Shelton Searching for 10th Win as a Coach

There’s no way around it – Blake Shelton is nothing short of a legend when it comes to The Voice. Not only is he the only coach to appear in every season since its implementation, but he has won a record nine times on the show – his first win came in Season 2 when he coached Jermaine Paul to a victory.

Shelton won the next two seasons with Cassadee Pope and Danielle Bradbery before winning with Craig Wayne Boyd (Season 7), Sundance Head (Season 11), Chloe Kohanski (Season 13), Todd Tilghman (Season 18), Cam Anthony (Season 20), and last season with Bryce Leatherwood (Season 22).

He has only won back-to-back on one occasion – when he won three seasons in a row – but he’ll have a chance to do it again in Season 23. Of course, he’ll have to get through Kelly Clarkson – a four-time winner and former back-to-back winner herself – and the two newcomers, who are primed to surprise us.

Chance the Rapper says he sees a lot of himself in those that take the stage – “somebody navigating the industry on their own, trying to make a name for themselves,” he said. As for Horan, he’s searching for the voices ‘that kind of make you feel something, a bit of the storyteller kind of vibe going on,” he said.
