Bruce Willis, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia last month, celebrated his 68th birthday on Sunday and was surrounded by family – including his wife, Emma Heming Willis, his ex-wife, Demi Moore, and his five children – Rumer, 34, twins Scout and Tallulah Willis, 29, Mabel, 10, and Evelyn, 8.
Moore posted a video of the celebration, which showed the family singing ‘Happy Birthday’ in a circle – followed by Willis blowing out two candles on what looked like a delicious apple pie. Willis was happy and excited at the moment, pumping his fist into the air and letting out several woo’s, hip-hip’s, and hooray’s.
“Happy birthday, BW! So glad we could celebrate you today. Love you and love our family. Thank you to everyone for the love and warm wishes — we all feel them,” Demi Moore wrote in the caption. It was our first look at Bruce Willis in quite a while, considering he has stayed out of the spotlight in recent months.

Earlier that day, Bruce Willis’ current wife, Emma Heming Willis, took to her Instagram Story to give fans some insight into her emotions as they navigate his diagnosis at 68. “Today is my husband’s birthday. I have started the morning by crying as you can see by my swollen eyes and snotty nose,” she said.
She wanted fans to see this side of their life because she always sees comments about how she’s ‘so strong’ and people asking her how she does it – adding that she isn’t ‘given a choice.’ “Sometimes in our lives, we have to put our big girl panties on and get to it. And that’s what I’m doing,” she explained.
While she spent most of her morning sad and filled with grief, she was thankful and grateful to spend the day with her family as they celebrated BW’s birthday. She later posted a video montage of her, Willis, and their children through the years – showing fans the loving, caring, affectionate, and fun-filled side of BW.
“He is pure love. He is so loved. And I’ll be loving him always. Happy Birthday, my sweet. My birthday wish for Bruce is that you continue to keep him in your prayers and highest vibrations because his sensitive Pisces soul will feel it. Thank you so much for loving and caring for him, too,” she wrote.
Bruce Willis’ Daughter, Scout, Also Shares a Post on His Birthday
Bruce Willis’ wife and ex-wife weren’t the only ones to share kind words on the actor’s 68th birthday. His daughter, Scout, also took to Instagram and shared a photo of her on her father’s shoulders from when she was a toddler – Bruce was sporting a goatee, leather jacket, sunglasses, and white-and-blue hat.
“Happy birthday to one of my best friends, the Pisces king, the master of duality, both action hero icon and gentle girl dad. What a privilege to have this man as my father and learn so much about life, joy, mischief, and art through him,” she wrote in the caption – adding that it isn’t necessarily an ‘easy day.’
She explained that, while it was a day filled with ‘deep love,’ it was also a day filled with a lot of ‘grief.’ She went on to explain that it truly shows ‘the depth of our loving for someone’ and that she’s doing her best to ‘be with both today.’ “Grief is a price I’ll always pay to know what it is to feel such love,” she continued.
