Brenda Song and Macaulay Culkin Make First Emotional Family Appearance

People couldn’t be happier than to see this childhood icon get his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

On December 1, just in time for the holiday season, Macaulay Culkin, who is best known for his role as Kevin McCallister in the Home Alone franchise, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as his wife, fellow child star Brenda Song, and their two children watched on.

And fans are getting very emotional over the private couple’s outwardly affection towards each other during their ceremony. Their two young sons stole the show as well.

Take a listen to Culkin’s emotional speech:

Congratulations are in order now that Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song have officially welcomed their second child – a son named Carson – into this world. The news was originally confirmed by Us Weekly, who shared that the new baby was born before Christmas 2022. The couple decided to keep it private.

It was later confirmed by Culkin’s brother and fellow actor, Kieran Culkin, who mentioned the baby in a recent interview with Access Hollywood. Kieran, a father of two himself, was explaining how he hasn’t met his brother’s second child yet due to his busy schedule – adding that Macaulay hasn’t met Kieran’s second child yet either.

The baby boy joins their other son, Dakota, who was born in April 2021 and will be turning 2 years old next month. It also comes a little more than a year after the couple revealed that they are engaged – which was confirmed in January 2022. They remain deeply in love with one another as their family grows.

Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song were originally linked to one another while filming Changeland (2019) – Brenda was cast as Pen, while Macaulay was cast as Ian. At the time of filming, the two were seen on a double date with Seth Green (who starred and directed the film) and his wife, Clare Grant, in Sept. 2017.

Several months later, Culkin and Song enjoyed a vacation to Paris, France, where they met up with Paris Jackson – the only daughter of Michael Jackson and goddaughter of Macaulay Culkin. The relationship remained fairly private until 2018 when Song briefly talked about Culkin in an interview with Us Weekly.

Things started to heat up in 2019 when Song talked about their deep understanding of one another – both growing up as child actors – in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. A couple of months later, Macaulay expressed his desire to have children with Brenda during an interview with Joe Rogan.

That desire was further confirmed in a cover story by Esquire in February 2020, where Macaulay revealed they were officially trying to start a family. Their first son arrived in April 2021, and the engagement was confirmed in January 2022. Rumors of a second child began to swirl in March 2022 and are now a reality.

Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song are ‘Hands-On’ Parents

In January, Brenda Song sat down for an interview with The Cut and opened up about her transition into motherhood. Considering she generally lives a very private life, it was interesting to hear her share some details that normally aren’t revealed to the media – including her and her fiancé’s parenting styles.

Not only are they ‘very hands-on’ with their children, but they tend to not use a nanny and prefer to either put in the time and energy themselves or turn to their parents for help. She expressed her deep gratitude for her mother, who has been right by their side since the day they welcomed their first child, Dakota.

“I think when you and your partner have kids, especially the first few months, you don’t have the patience to be polite with each other,” Brenda said, adding that communication plays a large role in that success. “I’ll be putting my son down, and my partner is like, ‘Let me feed the animals and get dinner ready.’”

She also talked about the struggles she experienced during her fourth trimester and even provided a warning to incoming mothers. “To my girlfriends that are pregnant, I say, make sure you have help. Because your instinct is to want to do it all, and you physically can’t,” she continued in the interview.
