A Father Is Reduced to Tears While Making a Public Plea for a Missing Mom and His Daughter to Come Home Safely

A new dad was left in tears after he made a desperate public plea for the mother of his children and now 3-week-old daughter to come home safely.

According to CNN, the Austin, Texas Police Department is still looking for 33-year-old Heidi Broussard and her 3-week-old daughter Margot Carey, six days after they were last seen.

On the day Broussard reportedly went missing, the mom of two traveled to a local elementary school to drop off another child around 7:30 a.m. on December 12. Authorities believe Broussard and Margot traveled back home again right after that before they ultimately disappeared.

The mother and daughter were reported missing 12 hours later. Detective Brad Herries said in a statement that they currently do not have any suspects and have not yet revealed if they suspect foul play.

In an interview with KEYEShane Carey said the last time he talked to Broussard was around 8 a.m. the day she reportedly went missing. Shane said he returned to the home they shared together six hours later, around 2 p.m., and Broussard and Margot were nowhere to be found.

It was then that he got a phone call from his son’s school saying that Broussard never picked their boy up. Shane told KEYE, “I went and picked up my son, and she wasn’t home again, so then that’s whenever I just called the police.”

Shane said nothing seemed out of place at their home. And Broussard’s parents believe that if their daughter would have left on her own accord, she would have taken her son with her as well.

Her father, David Broussard, told KEYE, “As far as her leaving on her own accord, no. You can’t make me believe that in a thousand years.” And her mom, Tammy, said they will never “give up hope, we won’t let go, because we do believe they’re coming home.”

Shane also pleaded with the public to keep an eye out for Broussard and their infant daughter. “If you see an awesome mom with a baby walking around or in a suspicious van or car or anything that looks suspicious, just please give somebody a call.”
