Valerie Bertinelli Doesn’t Mince Her Words After Announcing She’s Done at Food Network

After being forced to say goodbye to the Food Network after it was decided her show would not be renewed for another season, Valerie Bertinelli is speaking out again.

And while her first statement was standard, she’s not mincing her words this time.

On Threads, Bertinelli responded to a post about missing “actual cooking shows” on the Food Network instead of “another cooking competition show.” Another Threads user agreed saying the competition shows will be the death of Food Network, like it was for MTV.

In her response, Bertinelli said, “I fell in love with Food Network two decades ago because of all the amazing ITK (in the kitchen) shows. 30 minute meals, Ina, Giada…the list goes on.”

“I learned so much,” she continued. “It’s sad it’s not about cooking and learning any longer. Oh well, that’s just business, folks.”

Hundreds of people responded to Bertinelli’s statement encouraging her to lead the charge is rebooting that concept. “Maybe this is a sign that this the time for YOU to reboot that concept…Remember when the only place to find educational & informative ITK cooking shows was PBS – Julia Child, Natalie Dupree…Would absolutely LOVE to have that again,” one commenter wrote.

Hearts are broke back in January for Valerie Bertinelli as she revealed she’s been fired.

In an Instagram video, Bertinelli revealed that despite her love of the role, Food Network did not ask her back to its Kids Baking Championship. Admittedly, Bertinelli said she is crushed by the decision.

I wanted to sleep on it because it really hurt my feelings, and I know it’s not supposed to. Logically, I know that it’s business, budget cuts, right? But it really hurt my feelings to know that I’m not going to be asked back to be on ‘Kids Baking Championship,’” Valerie told her followers. “Really sucks.”

It’ been a difficult few years for Bertinelli, who has been open about the various trials and tribulations she’s endured.

In another video she shared on her Instagram page, the Food Network star announced good news and bad news. “I got some good news, and I got some bad news,” Bertinelli told her fans.

“The good news is that tomorrow at 12 noon on Food Network, the 14th season of Valerie’s Home Cooking starts airing all-new episodes. The bad news is that it’s its final season. Food Network canceled us last summer, I have no idea why. And I didn’t say anything last summer because honestly, I was hoping they would change their mind. But they have not. So this is it, this is the final season.”
