If you’re a fan of Ethan Hawke or Josh Charles, you should watch Taylor Swift’s newest music video for her hit single Fortnight from her newest album The Tortured Poets Department.
The pair of actors made cameos in the music video, playing scientists who are running tests on Taylor’s character. You may recall, Charles and Hawke worked together on Dead Poets Society playing Todd and Knox in the cult classic 1989 film.
Many of Swift’s fans, in the beginning, often confused the name of her album with the name of the movie.
Since their surprise appearance has been made public, Josh Charles and Ethan Hawke have spoken out about the monuments occasion. Charles admitted it was hard to keep the secret, admitting he didn’t even tell his kids.
“Little debrief about yesterday: I don’t like keeping secrets so that was hard,” Josh admitted. “I didn’t even tell my kids until the other day! Here’s a couple of tortured old poets about to board an early flight to be pop stars for a day,” he said of a picture he shared of himself and Ethan Hawke.
“Been through a lot with this dude over the years, but safe to say this was a most memorable day. We were treated with such class by Taylor and her crew from beginning to end. What I’ll remember most was the laughter. There was a lot of it. Like we were 17 all over again.”
“I’ve admired Taylor for a long time, but meeting her in person took my fandom to a whole new level,” Josh wrote in another post. “Genuine, kind, approachable, and just an all around stellar human being – Not to mention a kick ass director to boot!”
Ethan also took to Instagram to share a few words about Swift and photos from the day.
“’Todd’ & ‘Knox’ from DEAD POETS SOCIETY are now PhDs in THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. It’s quite an honor,” Hawke wrote.
“Thank you, Taylor Swift, for the opportunity to be in the music video for your song FORTNIGHT feat. Post Malone. Carpe Diem!”
