Son Achieved Dream of Becoming Pro Baseball Player Thanks to Parents — so He Paid off All Their Debt

Brady Singer is a 22-year-old Florida native who had his dreams come true when he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the first round of the Major League Baseball draft.

As the 18th overall draft pick, Singer signed a contract with the Royals that amounted to $4.25 million.

And as he revealed on Christmas Day, he used some of that money to give his parents the ultimate Christmas gift.

Watch the video he posted to his Instagram account:

The video shows Singer’s mom and dad reading a note he wrote to them. The note said:

Dear Mom and Dad,

I just wanted to say thank you for everything you’ve done to help me reach my dreams. From Woodley Field to Kauffman Stadium, there is absolutely no way I could have done all of this by myself. Both of you constantly took off of work and spent every dime you made just to put a smile on my face. My smile and appreciation for both of you has never stopped and it never will.

I will always remember traveling around Florida for baseball, trying to cheaply eat and save money, but I never could because you both always wanted me to have the best stuff to help me pursue my dreams. The money you both spent on traveling to eating, hotels, food, and all of those Gatorades I drank, is much more than I could ever give you. But there is something I want to give to you.

I am paying off the loan from the bank. Also I payed off all your debt, as well. Now instead of trying to save every weekend to replace the savings account you drained on traveling to see me play baseball, you can spend it on yourselves. Because you deserve the very best, I want you both to know how much I appreciate you and how none of this would be possible without you. Your giving hearts helped to shape my tiny dream into a reality.

I love you both more than you could ever imagine and will never forget what you both have done. Now let’s go celebrate. Merry Christmas!

Love always,

Brady

Singer wrote on Instagram that being able to help pay off his parents’ debt was something that will remain “very special to my heart.”

He continued:

To give back to the two people who have given up everything to support my brother and I. I can’t thank them enough. Love you Mom and Dad

Hundreds of people praised Singer for his generosity towards his parents:

I’m your new fan. Good luck and God bless you.

Amazing man. Very inspirational

This is the best thing I’ve seen this holiday! What a wonderful thing to do

Mad respect Brady, you have a fan for life in me based off of this alone. This is what it’s all about

Your parents did one hell of a job raising you. That’s an awesome thing you did dude

That’s so awesome! What a great young man you both have raised! He has a blessed heart! Merry Christmas to your family!

Not really a baseball fan. But this is a reason to start watching and follow your career. Wonderful moment.

According to Fox4KC, Singer was named SEC Pitcher of the Year prior to being drafted to the Major Leagues. He had an 11-1 record, 98 strikeouts and a 2.27 ERA in 14 starts.
