Kim Kardashian isn’t looking forward to having an empty nest someday.
The 44-year-old beauty mogul recently took to her Instagram Stories to share what she believes is the “sad part” about being a mother.
“The sad part about motherhood is that you’re raising the one person you can’t live without… to be able to live without you,” she wrote Nov. 9, according to People.
The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star coupled the post with a teary-eyed emoji.
Kardashian shares daughters North, 11, and Chicago, 6, and sons Saint, 8, and Psalm, 5 with hip-hop artist Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.
Her emotional post comes just a few weeks after a report by People accused West of being an absent father.
“Kanye is sadly not around very much. She’s pretty much a single mom,” a source close to Kardashian told the outlet on Oct. 21.
A representative for West didn’t respond to the outlet’s request for comment.
According to the report, Kardashian’s life revolves around work and her kids. She works when the kids are in school but focuses on her role as a mother when they’re not.
“Although she has help, it’s still a lot of work for her to balance and coordinate everything,” the source continued.
This isn’t the first time the billionaire has opened up about life as a mother.

In May 2023, Kardashian revealed that she often cries herself to sleep during an appearance on Jay Shetty’s “On Purpose” podcast.
“There are nights I cry myself to sleep,” she said of the tornado-like chaos that occurs at home.
“Everyone says the days are long and the years are short, and that couldn’t be a more true statement,” she added.
Kardashian went on to describe motherhood as the “most challenging, rewarding job on this planet,” but said there’s nothing that could prepare you for it, no matter how long you wait.
A few months later, during an episode of “The Kardashians,” the SKIMS founder revealed that the four kids she has are the only four kids she needs.
“I think I’m done,” she said in the episode, referring to whether she wants more children.
But one thing being a mother has done for her is give her a newfound respect for her own mother, Kris Jenner.
On Nov. 5, Kardashian took to her Instagram to wish Jenner a happy 69th birthday.
“I am so beyond grateful for the love and support you show each of your kids. It really is unmatched and am just so lucky I get to experience true unconditional love like this,” she wrote in the caption.
