Ariana Grande makes confession about viral ‘RIGHT!’ soundbite from ‘Wicked’

As the motion picture version of “Wicked” continues to have its moment, a soundbite from the movie has gone viral.

During the scene Ariana Grande sings the “Popular” with her co-star Cynthia Erivo, Grande sing, “Did the have brains or knowledge? Don’t make me laugh. They were…”

After Erivo answers, “Popular?” Grande screams, “Right!”

And the way in which Grande says that single world has captured a good portion of social media users.

Now, Grande is talking about how the moment came to be.

In fact, the actress admits she doesn’t even remember doing it and heard it for the first time while listening to the live recording at the studio.

“The first time I heard this was when I was listening to the live take from on set in the (studio),” Grande wrote in a video she shared on TikTok, “before I had even seen the movie.”

Grande admitted she even “scared myself” hearing the recording for the first time.

“I called Jon (Wicked’s director) immediately giggling for the record,” Grande continued. “I absolutely do not remember doing this.”

In the comments, fans loved hearing the backstory of how the viral moment came to be.

“The best creative decision of the entire film and it wasn’t even intentional,” a commenter wrote.

“The way ‘RIGHT’ has me in a chokehold,” another added.

“This was insane. I screamed in the theater,” a fan shared.

Grande has called playing the role of Glinda as her dream role.

“Loved seeing ‘Wicked’ again… amazing production! Made me realize again how badly I want 2 play Glinda at some point in my life,” she wrote in a 2011 tweet.
