John David and Abbie Duggar have been married since 2018. In an interview from August 2019, the couple revealed that they learned they were expecting after Abbie checked herself into a local urgent care.
At the time, Abbie, a nurse, wasn’t feeling well, but she had no idea her pregnancy test was about to come back positive. “She said, ‘Oh, and by the way, we always do a pregnancy test and your’s came back positive. And I was like, ‘What? I think I’m gonna cry!'”
Five months later, on January 7, Abbie and John David took to Instagram to reveal that the baby girl they have been waiting to meet for nine months has finally arrived.

Abbie and John David Duggar Become Parents to Beautiful Little Girl
The proud new parents wrote, “Welcome to our world Grace Annette (Gracie)!!! Gracie was born early Tuesday morning, she was 7 pounds 11 oz and 20 3/4 inches long. We are quite smitten by our new bundle of joy and are soaking in all of her little newborn snuggles!”
And John and Abbie later said in a separate statement issued to the public, “Our lives have changed forever with the arrival of our baby girl. She is a beautiful gift from God! We are so blessed the Lord has given her to us. It’s still surreal to know that we are really parents, but it’s a great new adventure that we are excited to take on together!”
Gracie’s birth fell just five days before her father’s birthday. On Sunday, January 12, John David, and his twin sister Jana, celebrated their 30th birthday.
Jana, who is not yet married, shared a sweet message to her twin brother on their special day. Jana wrote, in part, “Ever since John and I were little we’ve been asked if we have that ‘twin thing’.
She continued, “Well, John, I’ve always answered that with a no—but now I can honestly say that the day little Gracie was born I felt every bit of happiness that you did, so I guess it must be real!”
“It’s so sweet watching you & Abbie as parents! You’re naturals! And the same qualities that have made you a wonderful brother will also make you an amazing dad. You are wise, tenderhearted, godly, and patient. You stand for what you believe in, you’ve always been one to think outside the box, and are always determined to finish what you’ve started. Being an aunt to your little girl is priceless. Being your twin is an honor. Happy birthday, John!”
Many of John’s other siblings also responded to the news of Gracie’s birth. Josiah and Lauren wrote, “So happy for y’all!!!! She is the cutest.”

Jill (Duggar) Dillard added, “Congrats!!” While Anna Duggar said, “Gracie is B E A U T I F U L!!! So thrilled for you guys!” And their cousin, Amy (Duggar) King shared, “Look at that lil smile already!! So happy for you both! She’s beautiful!”
