Week 14
Your baby is the size of a cupcake!
Fun Fact!
Time Magazine reported that in 1945 the longest human pregnancy lasted 375 days. Dos and Don'ts
- Do have sex if you feel like it
- Don't go horseback riding
What should you expect in Week 14?
- As your baby’s developing organs are almost fully functioning, they are also able to make facial expressions now too!
- And you may even be able to catch one of those facial expressions during an ultrasound thanks to their newly formed facial muscles.
- And mama, you’re hopefully starting to feel much better after experiencing unpleasant first-trimester symptoms.
- However, morning sickness could still be lingering, and you may also notice some varicose veins forming.
- “During pregnancy, hormonal changes, mainly progesterone, and increased pressure in the abdomen, add significantly to the development of varicose veins, mainly on the lower extremities and sometimes on external genitalia,” Dr. Tanja Premru-Sršen, Chief Medical Advisor for Bellabeat, told Babylist.
- “Constipation during pregnancy and a diet low in fiber and fluids contribute to developing hemorrhoids, which are varicose veins under the rectal lining,” the doctor continued.
- External compression and loose clothing, as well as avoiding sitting and standing for too long, can help prevent varicose veins.
