Jessica Simpson Dresses 16-Month-Old Daughter Birdie in Adorable Hand-Me-Down from 8-Year-Old Sister Maxwell

Celebrities: They’re just like us! And Jessica Simpson is no different. The multi-hyphenate talent recently shared a pair of photos that prove she, just like us, is a fan of the hand-me-down.

Simpson shared an adorable snap of her 16-month-old daughter, Birdie Mae, in a beautiful floral dress. The photo itself is too cute for words, but Simpson later revealed that the dress used to belong to her 8-year-old daughter, Maxwell.

“Birdie loves to visit her neighborhood piggy friend Kevin Bacon every afternoon,” Simpson captioned a photo of her youngest child, Birdie Mae, on Sunday, August 2. In the photo, sweet Birdie stands at a fence — Kevin Bacon is presumably on the other side somewhere — in a super cute dress with a bright floral pattern.

It turns out that dress has a history, and Birdie is not the first of Simpson’s children to wear it.

Jessica Simpson’s daughter, Maxwell, was the dress’s original wearer.

“Maxi in the same dress Birdie wore today,” Simpson captioned a photo she shared to her Instagram Story. In the gorgeous pic — which must be about 6-years-old or so — a very young Maxwell can be seen wearing the exact dress seen in the Birdie photo.

Considering the fact that Simpson allegedly has a net worth of $200 million, it’s refreshing to see that she treasures hand-me-downs the way many less fortunate parents do. For someone with her resources to hold on to a toddler dress for 6 is pretty awesome to see, and it’s especially cool to get to see both Simpson girls rock the stylish ensemble.

Another bonus? Seeing Birdie and Maxwell at around the same age in the same dress really highlights how similar they look (and how much they both look like their mama), which certainly warms the heart a bit.

Simpson seems to be spending time at home with her family as the novel Coronavirus pandemic continues. Earlier this year, she released her book of memoirs, Open Book, which was and continues to be a huge success. It reportedly sold nearly half a million copies in its first 3 months on shelves, and it continues to find an audience during this strange quarantine era.
