A mom is begging whoever stole her son’s ashes from her car to bring them back. In an interview with KVAL, Molly Dadey said, “I just want him home, that’s all.”
According to the Dadey, the ashes had been stolen from her car in broad daylight, or so she thinks. Around 7:45 a.m., the day she learned the ashes were missing, Dadey had returned home from a friend’s house. After returning to her vehicle around 10 a.m. to grab an item, she didn’t notice anything was missing.

Mom Begs for Her Baby’s Stolen Ashes to Be Returned
And then she returned to her car a third time that day and that is when she saw they were gone. “I switched air fresheners while I was in there, I noticed my necklaces that have my son’s ashes were gone,” Dadey told KVAL. “I just noticed they were gone.”
The ashes were stored in a tiny heart-shaped urn that was hanging from a chain one might wear around his or her neck. As Dadey explained, on January 7th, 2018, an emergency c-section at 32 weeks after suffering a stillbirth. She named her son Lorenzo.
And although Dadey does have more of his ashes in a safe place, this is the one thing that she took with her everywhere in loving memory of her baby boy. “It’s the one thing I take with me everywhere, its the one thing that makes me feel safe at all times.”

To make matters worse, Dadey said it was the only thing that was taken from her car. According to KVAL, Eugene police have investigators “constantly searching pawnshops and craigslist for the reported stolen items.”
The police are urging anyone with information regarding the stolen necklace to call their non-emergency line at 541-682-5111. Dadey said she is offering a $500 reward for anyone who produces the necklaces.
