It’s Official! Aaron Sturtevant Legally Changes Name to Aaron Paul; Wife and Son Change Last Name Too

Aaron Paul, formerly known as Aaron Sturtevant and best known for his portrayal of Jesse Pinkman in Breaking Bad, has officially changed his last name to reflect who we’ve all known him as for years. It’s a last name he used as his professional moniker but is now mixing his business life with his personal life.

Recent legal documents show he isn’t the only one changing his last name. His wife, Lauren Parsekian, is also changing her last name to Paul – matching the last name shared by their four-year-old daughter (Story Anabelle Paul) and six-month-old son (Ryden Caspian Paul). They now have matching last names.

And that’s not all! Their son, who was born in April of this year, was originally given the name Casper Emerson – according to his birth certificate. Of course, that’s not the name they’ve been using for the past few months, opting to call him Ryden Caspian instead – the couple is finally going to legally change it.

According to TMZ, the couple is deciding to change their last name because they ‘want to conform to AP’s professional name and keep the family name consistent.’ As for their son’s name change, they were forced to give him a name at the hospital but later thought of one they liked better – hence Ryden Caspian.

Aaron and Lauren originally met at the Coachella Festival and announced their engagement in January 2012. They eventually got married in May 2013 in Malibu, CA – John Mayer and Foster the People were performers. They welcomed Story in February 2018 and most recently welcomed Ryden in May 2022.

Aaron Paul has played a big role in a lot of our lives – at least those of us that glued our eyes to the screen as we binge-watched five seasons of Breaking Bad. He would go on to win three Emmy Awards, a Critics’ Choice Television Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award for his portrayal of Jesse Pinkman.

His wife, Lauren Parsekian, is a director and actress best known for directing a documentary about girl-on-girl bullying – Finding Kind. She also portrayed a doctor in a 2012 NCIS TV short and founded the Kind Campaign in 2009 – which is a non-profit organization dedicated to girl-on-girl bullying victims.

Aaron Paul has repeatedly shared his enjoyment, excitement, and pure joy over fatherhood – adding that while parenting a newborn is exhausting, he wouldn’t trade it for the world. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon following the birth of his new son, he shared how he isn’t the only one excited over the baby.

It appears his four-year-old daughter, Story, absolutely loves being an older sister to Ryden. “[She] can’t squeeze him enough. Like, lays on top of him, suffocates him,” said the Breaking Bad and Westworld actor, adding he’s basically a doll to her. We can only hope that brother-sister love never fades away.

In case you were wondering, Aaron Paul asked Brian Cranston – who famously portrayed Walter White alongside Paul in Breaking Bad – to be the godfather of his new son and Cranston said yes! “I love the man to death. He’s one of my best friends in the world, and, so yeah, it was just a no-brainer,” said Paul.
