Alana Thompson, formerly known as Honey Boo Boo, is all grown up!
Thompson was just 6-years-old when she starred on the TLC show Toddlers and Tiaras. But now, she is shocking the internet after an interview with Teen Vogue.
“I guess people still expect me to be little Honey Boo Boo and I’m not anymore.” Alana began. “Just because I’m from the south, people expect me to be all country bumpkin… But I do not care. As long as I like myself, I’m good.”
And when it comes to her personal life, well, let’s just say Thompson keeps a close circle.
“To be honest, I do not have many friends. Because I feel like folks are so much like, ‘Oh my God, I’m friends with Honey Boo Boo.’ I don’t trust nobody really, so I don’t have friends.”
And on the subject of her mother, Mama June Shannon, the young star was candid about her past and future.
“When my mama got real bad with her [drug use], I didn’t know where I was going to end up. I’m proud of myself for how far I’ve come.”

In April — the episode titled Mama June: Road to Recovery, Alana confronts her mother in a heartbreaking interaction.
The episode features Mama June speaking with daughters Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, 21, and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, 15, who ask their mother why she made the choices she made.
“It was hard for me not having my mom there, and I had to come home and tell Pumpkin what I was doing,” the teen shares.
“I’m very grateful that Pumpkin was there for me, but why weren’t you there? Why weren’t you there when I needed you most?”

Mama June has battled addiction for quite some time. In 2019 she was arrested for felony drug possession. She has since spent time in rehab and has alleged to have been sober for 14 months.
“You don’t know how many nights I cried myself to sleep just hoping and praying that you didn’t overdose,” Honey Boo Boo revealed.
“‘God, please don’t let my mom die. Please, just hold onto her. Just, please!’ I just wanted you there, and even if I texted your phone, I wouldn’t even get a text back. So hell, I never knew if you were alive or dead anyways,” Alana reveals in the exchange.
