Alyssa Scott is Pregnant for a Third Time Just 10 Months After Losing Her Son to a Brain Tumor

On October 26th, Alyssa Scott confirmed what most of us had already assumed when she announced her pregnancy in an Instagram photo that featured quite the baby bump. Although details are scarce, Entertainment Tonight recently reported that Nick Cannon is the father.

Scott and Cannon welcomed their first child on June 23, 2021 – an adorable son named Zen. Unfortunately, the co-parents announced the death of baby Zen in December of last year due to a brain tumor – he was just five months old. Now 10 months later, they’re expecting again.

In the Instagram announcement, she shared a photo of her baby bump in a beautiful blue dress – accompanied by her four-year-old daughter, Zeela (from a previous relationship). “With you by my side…” said Scott in the caption, with the two wearing matching outfits and matching smiles.

Fans have speculated about the pregnancy for several months, ever since Scott posted a photo on Instagram in honor of Mother’s Day – she appeared to have a baby bump, but didn’t mention it in the caption. Instead, she dedicated the caption to her mom, grandmother, and daughter.

“Today I’m grateful I was able to pick up the phone and hear my mom and grandmother’s voice on the other line. I’m grateful for my daughter who is holding my hand through this holiday. I mean it when I say my heart is with every woman and every mother today,” she said in May.

After losing their first son, Cannon spoke out in support of Scott – calling her the ‘strongest woman I’ve ever seen’ on his show. “Never had an argument, never was angry. Was emotional when she needed to be, but always the best mom and continues to be the best mom,” he said.

On August 12th, Scott opened up about ‘what I thought would be a quick doctor visit,’ but turned out to be a five-day hospital visit. “I will never be the same. My body feels it. I’ve been on the verge of tears the last few days. Trying to keep a forward momentum,” she said on Instagram.

With Alyssa Scott announcing her pregnancy, Nick Cannon will be having his 12th child – including Zen, who passed away last year. He has been open about his love of fatherhood and while he has 11 living children with six different women, he takes being a father seriously.

Cannon’s clan first started to grow when he welcomed fraternal twins – Moroccan Scott and Monroe Cannon – with ex-wife Mariah Carey. The couple eventually decided to separate in 2014 and the divorce finalized in 2016, but Cannon expressed his desire to have more children.

He had a son named Golden in 2017 and a daughter named Powerful Queen in 2020 – both with Brittany Bell. He then had twin sons – Zion and Zillion – in 2021 with Abby De La Rosa. Zen, his baby with Scott, was born a little over a week after his twin sons with De La Rosa.

In June of 2022, he welcomed a son named Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi. He then had a daughter named Onyx Ice with LaNisha Cole in mid-September before having a third child with Bell a little over a week later. He’s also expecting a third child with De La Rosa very soon.
