Amanda Bynes Shows Off New Haircut Amid Shocking Career Change

It has been eight months since Amanda Bynes celebrated the end of her nine-year conservatorship – which started in August 2013 (when she was 27 years old) and ended in March 2022 (just before turning 36 years old). During that time, her finances and overall wellbeing were being controlled by her mother.

Bynes has already made a series of life changes since the conservatorship came to an end, but her most recent has to do with her hair. In the past, she has either donned beach blonde hair or a unique, colorful wig. Now, she’s switching it up and going with something much shorter and darker than we’re used to.

She was spotted on a coffee break on Monday while attending cosmetology school in Los Angeles. Wearing black leggings, black flats, black cropped t-shirt, and black sunglasses, she debuted her new hairstyle – a short bob – that was dyed a dark brown. She was also holding a blue see-through purse.

And before you ask, yes you read correctly – Amanda Bynes is currently attending an LA cosmetology school to one day become a manicurist. She announced the career change in October 2022, just a few months ago, as she continues to seek a better and happier life outside of the entertainment industry.

The former Nickelodeon star struggled with substance abuse and mental health between 2012 and 2014 – which is why the conservatorship was put in place to begin with. Luckily, she has been following a better path since then as she turns over a new leaf in life. And pretty soon, she’ll be a professional manicurist.

In 2019 – a mere decade since her last appearance in a film – Amanda Bynes announced that she had earned an associate’s degree Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. The former Easy A actress has doubled down on that mission and is now seeking her bachelor’s degree at the LA private college.

She’ll be majoring in creative industry studies with a core in beauty marketing and product development. In the meantime, she’ll also be going to cosmetology school to become a manicurist – which is where she was photographed the other day, debuting her new hair. It has been a series of positive changes for her.

Amanda Bynes Reportedly Back Together With Ex-Fiancee

That’s not the only thing she’s changing in her life right now – her relationship status is another. Not long after her conservatorship ended, Amanda Bynes was rumored to be back with her ex-fiancee, Paul Michael. Despite their on-again, off-again relationship, the two are reportedly living together in LA.

The couple originally met while staying at a sober living facility in 2019. By February 2020, the two were engaged – though it wouldn’t last long. They called it quits before getting married but reconciled earlier this year with the engagement back on. Unfortunately, they called it quits again before they got married.

While the two are now living with one another, sources have confirmed they are not engaged – at least yet. The two have a rocky history, but they always seem to find each other after some time apart. Fans are hoping her career change and new hairstyle result in new outcomes in her relationship with Paul.
