Free One-Day Shipping Will Soon Be Available to Amazon Prime Members

Amazon Prime Free One Day Shipping

Courier Delivering Package To Woman At Home

To all of the moms who shop on Amazon like it’s a compulsion — which is, like, all of us — we’ve got some amazing news: free one-day shipping is finally arriving.

You likely already have an Amazon Prime membership, because who doesn’t love free two-day shipping? Or streaming The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel? But what if we were to tell you it was about to get even better? “How?!,” we hear you asking. “How does it get better than free two-day shipping on diapers, clothing, toys, and books?” How about free one-day shipping?

That’s right! Last week, during the company’s Q1 earnings call, CFO Brian T. Olsavsky announced that Amazon was actively working to make free one-day shipping a reality for Prime members.

“We’re currently working on evolving our Prime free two-day shipping program to be a free one-day shipping program,” Olsavsky said. “We’re able to do this because we’ve spent 20-plus years expanding our fulfillment and logistics network, but this is still a big investment and a lot of work.”

A quick break just for us to say: YAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

A Few Caveats to Consider

It’s important to note that not all products will be eligible for free one-day shipping. In fact, free one-day shipping is already available on Amazon for select products and has been for some time. This announcement, though, assures us that, in the future, more products will be eligible for the new shipping deal than ever before.

Additionally, it seems like Amazon may take a little bit of time to ramp this program up. They will be investing $800 million in order to take one-day shipping to the next level, and with that much money comes some additional waiting time.

So while it may not roll out completely in the super-immediate future, we’re excited about where Amazon is headed. Just think of all the extra things you can order knowing that they’ll show up on your doorstep tomorrow! Waiting for the day after tomorrow is just so passé.
