Amy Duggar King and her husband Dillon King are now the proud parents of a baby boy. The couple welcomed their first child into the world on Wednesday, October 9.
The proud first-time parents shared the news of their baby’s birth with People just hours later. As Amy told the magazine, Daxton Ryan King was born weighing seven-pounds, eight-ounces, and measured 20 inches long.

Daxton was delivered in a hospital via a cesarean section. Their photographer, Loren Bullard, described the birth as a “smooth and easy delivery. Both mom and baby are great and healthy!” Amy opened up about her decision to have a c-section on Instagram.
Surprise!! Our little Daxton will be here today!! With my small frame and the fact that the Dr. Said theres an 85% chance I’d have an emergency situation. We went ahead and scheduled a cesarean to be on the safe side. I’m sure there will be negative comments. But I have to do what’s right for my body and what’s healthy for my son. I’ve been mentally and spiritually preparing myself for this I’m trying to relax, and not worry! But I’ve never had surgery before, I’ve never even stayed in a hospital before, so I’m just a ball of nerves…soo I’d appreciate your prayers!!!
Amy took to Instagram the day after the birth to share a photo of baby Daxton. The picture shows Amy holding their beautiful baby boy while Dillon smiles happily at his new family. Amy is also seen being covered by a blanket that reads “God gave us you.”
The new mom wrote, “He’s absolute perfection!!!”

Amy and Dillon first revealed the news that their family was growing in April. On Easter Sunday, Amy shared a photo of them holding up rose gold balloons that spelled out “BABY.” Dillon was also thrilled to announce they were expecting a child.
He wrote on his own Instagram account, “We are completely speechless, overly excited and ready for the next chapter as new parents!” Dillon and Amy have been married since 2015. She told People after learning they were expecting a baby boy:
“I’ve always wanted to be a boy mom! Dillon builds lifted trucks, so I can just imagine how suped-up the Power Wheels will be. We just can’t wait for this little ball of energy to arrive! He’s already named, so let all the embroidery begin. I am so obsessed with baby bath robes!”
And Amy is far from the only Duggar expecting a child this year. Just this past spring, Amy’s cousin, Jessa Duggar Seewald, and her husband welcomed a baby girl into their family of (now) five. The eldest Duggar, Josh, and his wife, Anna, are also expecting their sixth child very soon, as is John David Duggar and his wife, Abbie.
Their brother, Joseph Duggar, and sister-in-law, Kendra Duggar, are expecting a child as well. And so is Josiah Duggar and his wife, Lauren Duggar. Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth and her husband Austin were also expecting a child this year. Sadly, on June 26, the couple experienced a stillbirth.

Days after welcoming Daxton into the world, Amy wrote that they are now home with their little boy and ready to start their life as a family of three.
