Amy Duggar King isn’t finished speaking her mind as her cousin, Josh Duggar’s, sentencing hearing gets closer. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Josh Duggar will be sentenced for his crimes on May 25.
This hearing comes after he was found guilty of downloading and possessing child pornography in December 2021. He faces up to 20 years in prison.

And while Amy as been anything but silent in the wake of her cousin’s horrific actions, she admits that she has “so much to say,” but this time, she’s “not afraid anymore. As Mamas Uncut reported earlier this week, snippets of letters written by one of Josh Duggar’s victims and some of his family and friends were made public.
Amy Duggar King Calls Out Aunt Michelle Duggar for Her ‘Delusional’ Letter to the Judge In Support of Josh Duggar
While the letter from the victim and her mother spoke out against Josh, the letters from his friends and family spoke in support of him. The letters ultimately were written to encourage the judge to choose leniency when deciding how much time Josh should serve for his crimes.
Now, Amy Duggar King is speaking out not only against Josh but against her family members who are still supporting him. After taking to Instagram to ask her followers not to send her “the graphic/sick details of Josh Duggar’s case,” she spoke directly to People magazine about how she’s feeling.
“I don’t think anyone would make the mistake of assuming I support my cousin,” she wrote. “I’m struggling to even find the words to express how angry I am.”
Amy continued, saying, “I’m angry at my cousin. I am deeply disappointed in him as a person. … But let me tell you I am furious at the family that looked the other way and still today, refuse to hold him accountable.”
“I take a lot of intentional effort to protect my mind and heart and still, this has me crumpled. But you know what? We’re not supposed to be ok in light of any of this. And I’m giving myself the grace to feel all the anger and sadness and disappointment running through me. I am grateful for the support of my husband and my mom’s gentle reminders that this isn’t ours to carry alone. I am humbled by the love you guys are showing us. Thank you for being here with me, through it all.”
Amy also took to Twitter to directly call out the letter her Aunt Michelle Duggar wrote in support of Josh. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, in her letter to the judge, Michelle wrote, in part, “Joshua has a tender heart and he is compassionate toward others.

“If someone is having a difficult time, he is one of the first to encourage or try to help them in a tangible way,” Michelle continued. “Joshua has always been a positive and upbeat person. He is a good provider for his family, working diligently and thinking of creative ways to support and take care of his wife and children. He is also generous and shares his resources with others in need.”
In Amy’s response to her aunt’s letter, she admits that yes, Josh is a lot of the things Michelle said he is, but he’s also more than just that. “There’s a sinister side. A side to him that makes your skin crawl,” Amy said on Twitter. “You can’t ignore what he did years ago, and what he was caught looking at! Are they delusional?”
She also called out Josh’s wife and the mother of his seven children, Anna Duggar, for her letter as well. In her tweet, she brought up all of Josh’s past scandals, asking Anna how she could possibly call her husband “loyal and faithful.”
Amy said she hopes Josh is given the maximum sentence of 20 years and shared this quote about abusers and told her family to “wake up” and “stop living in denial.
“Abusers are not all shady men lurking in alleyways. They are amongst your friends, classmates, coworkers, family, etc. They are sociable, well-liked, charismatic, charming even, making it that much important to act accordingly when outed.”
The quote shared by King most directly speaks to this excerpt taken from LaCount Reber’s letter. Reber is the family friend Josh had stayed with since he was arrested for downloading child pornography.
In his letter, FOX 24 reports Reber wrote that Josh “displayed a great amount of patience and kindness as he interacted with his wife and children,” exhibiting “a great deal of care and consideration.”
Reber continued, saying that “It was interesting to see that Joshua always seemed to have a good attitude, throughout the discouraging circumstances that he was facing.” As Mamas Uncut reported, Josh’s defense is asking the judge to sentence him to just five years in jail rather than the maximum sentence of 20 years.
