It has been one year since Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes were removed as co-anchors of GMA 3: What You Need to Know – a decision that was made on December 5, 2022, in response to the couple’s alleged relationship. It wasn’t until Nov. 1 (one month ago) that they made their relationship ‘Instagram official.’
“How’s this for Instagram official? #silentnomore,” they wrote in a joint post on Instagram – their first real photo together. They also teased some exciting news, officially revealing their ‘Amy & T.J.’ podcast for the first time. Episode 1 is being released on Dec. 5 – the one-year anniversary of their removal from GMA3.
Now, people have had a chance to listen to the first episode and they got straight to the point early on. At the top of the episode, Holmes describes himself and Amy as “the folks who lost the jobs we love because we love each other.”
“That is the bottom line and that is why we are here now,” Holmes continued before Amy added that this podcast is “the first time we get to say what happened and where we are today.” And although the journalists admit they have “gone through a year of hell, […] In the end, all of us are always rooting for love. It doesn’t always happen when you want it to happen. And it’s undeniable when it’s real and it’s something you have to navigate and it’s not easy.”
Robach admitted to being nervous after being away from a microphone for over a year but ready to share their story because the narrative that has been shared publicly about their affair and subsequent romance, they say isn’t theirs. In the end, Robach admits she’s the happiest she’s ever been and in the best relationship she’s ever been. And Holmes agrees adding, “Bottom line we have not said this. I’m in love with this woman and she’s in love with me and we are planning a life together.”
They go on to say they are not adulterers. But that they were both in the middle of divorce proceedings when their relationship began. And as the couple admits, hindsight is 20/20 and although the narratives are untrue, they admitted that they could have been more honest upfront in the months leading up to the first article that was released about their relationship.
So, what have the couple been up to over the past month? Just five days after their big reveal, the couple posed for a picture together after finishing the NYC marathon together – something they had trained months for. Then, on Nov. 28, another podcast teaser came and they made a promise they better keep.

“Why yes, we will be serving tea… One week from today, ‘Amy & T. J.’ Listen on the iHeartRadio app and everywhere podcasts are heard. December 5th,” they wrote in another joint post on Instagram – sharing a photo of them sitting down on a couch with two mics pointed at them (their apparent recording setup).
The caption was ironic, given the fact that T.J. had a cup of tea on the coffee table in front of him. So, it seems they’ll be serving two types of tea – the kind you drink and the kind you gossip over. With the first episode releasing on the day they were removed, we can expect some stories and perspectives on that!
When Did Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes Start Dating?
It’s unclear exactly when Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes started dating – maybe that’s something they’ll delve into further in the podcast. With that said, we do know that dating rumors initially began on Nov. 30, 2022, when they were photographed holding hands in a car and taking a vacation together in New York.
The rumors created an uproar on social media, and not just because they were co-anchors, but because they were both married at the time – T.J. to Marilee Fiebig, and Amy to Andrew Shue. It wasn’t until Dec. 29 that Holmes filed for divorce from Fiebig – Shue and Holmes finalized their own divorce in March 2023.
While Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes didn’t make it official until Nov. 1, they had several PDA-filled trips, vacations, and outings over the past year – suggesting they’ve been dating for quite a while. Nonetheless, they’re ready to break their silence and finally tell their side of the story with the release of their podcast.
