Amy Schumer is using photos from her labor and delivery experience to bring smiles and joy to the world, specifically to the pregnant women of the world. While the pandemic we are all living in has brought a ton of unexpected stress and anxiety into everyone’s lives, it has been particularly stressful for the women who are expecting to give birth during this trying time.
So, Schumer did what she does best and used herself to make other laughs and to also let expectant mothers know that she, and all of us, are thinking about them.
On March 28, Schumer took to her Instagram Story to share a photo of herself, sitting in a hospital bed topless. The photo was snapped after she gave birth to her now 10-month-old son, Gene Attell.
Amy Schumer Sends ‘Big Nip Love’ to Expectant Moms
Along with the image, Schumer wrote the message, “Big nip love to all the pregnancy ladies during this time. We are thinking about you too.”
Because pregnancy can be stressful by itself, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists offered some ways for pregnant women to deal with the added stress of expecting during a global health crisis, as well as staying healthy.
“Pregnant women can stay healthy by following the usual recommendations during pregnancy, including, ‘eating healthy meals, exercising regularly, getting plenty of sleep, and avoiding alcohol and drugs,’ the ACOG reports.
“Being home a lot and avoiding other people can be hard,” the ACOG continued. “The above tips for staying physically healthy also can help your mental health. A few other things you can do to stay mentally healthy include, “staying connected with your friends and family, over the phone or online, taking breaks from coronavirus news and social media, and telling your ob-gyn or other health care professional if you are feeling sad or anxious.”
Schumer also shared a video of her and Gene saying hi to her dad and Gene’s grandfather through the window of his apartment building.
