Being nominated for an Emmy is a big deal, and Amy Schumer knew just how to celebrate. After being nominated in the Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special category for her Netflix special, Amy Schumer Growing, Schumer shared the news with her family, including her son, Gene.
Schumer shared her two-month-old’s reaction to the nomination on Instagram, posting a picture of Gene being fed a bottle while pumping his fist high in the air: the perfect way to celebrate mom’s success. Schumer captioned the image, “We are very proud of being EMMY nominated for our @netflixisajoke special #GROWING as we were both on stage during filming! Very proud and excited.”
Schumer also posted a picture with her husband, Chris Fischer, who is covering Schumer’s mouth in the image. She captioned it, “Thank you everyone who voted and to my husband who wants me to never stop talking.” Scroll right in the Instagram embed above to see the image.
Schumer filmed the stand-up comedy special while pregnant with Gene, who was born in May.
Since his arrival, Schumer has shared many honest mom moments, including pics of her rocking mesh hospital underwear and a pic of herself looking lovely in a hospital gown and an IV shortly after giving birth. Fans have applauded Schumer’s honesty and openness about her journey postpartum, cheering her on as she continues to share wonderfully raw moments. Like this new photo, for example, where Amy can be seen celebrating her “first period in a year.”
Never change, Amy!
