Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen‘s kiddos are best friends but that doesn’t mean they won’t shy away from some friendly competition.
While Benjamin Allen Cohen, 22-months-old, has been named People magazine’s title of “Cutest Baby Alive,” once before, it seems he has since decided to pass on the torch to 7-month-old Wyatt Morgan Cooper.
On Tuesday, Dec. 15, Anderson, 53, and Andy, 52, appeared virtually on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to promote their annual co-hosting of CNN’s live New Year’s Eve show.
In the segment, Stephen Colbert mentioned how Andy’s toddler son won People magazine’s title of “Cutest Baby Alive” in 2019 when he was a baby, while Anderson’s infant boy was just offered the honor this year.
“Now, what I need to know, not only for myself, but for American people,” Stephen began, “is that will there be a peaceful transition of power?”

Andy joked, “Ben, of course, is the Cutest Baby Alive. We got the offer from People magazine and I thought that it would be very selfish, especially in a year of turmoil, for us to take that award. So we said, let’s give it to Wyatt Cooper this year. Because hasn’t Anderson been through enough, quite frankly?”
To which Anderson shot back: “You gave a hard pass to being the Cutest Baby Alive for two years in a row?” to which Andy quipped: “He gave a charitable pass.”
Anderson then jested how his son wants to start a hype house.

“Wyatt held a meeting with me the other day and he wants to start a TikTok house, but just for babies.”
“Like L.A. has the Sway House. He was calling it the Poo House.”
The two were recently on Colbert to promote their upcoming CNN New Year’s Eve broadcast, which Cohen said is “an authentic experience, unlike the pretaped BS that’s happening on other networks.” Watch the hilarious promo below!
