Does anyone have tips for swelling during pregnancy. I wake up and my hands, feet and ankles are so swollen they hurt. I always put my feet up above my heart but that doesn’t seem to help.
Mine did that and it turned out to be pre eclampsia
Elevate as often as possible…and don’t let your feet dangle…rest them on something…also Epsom salt for the feet…like in a foot massager
Lots of water and lower your sodium. Soak with Epsom salt.
Go to the Drs and get checked
Try not to eat a lot of salty foods. Elevate your feet and stay off of them as much as possible.
I drank a lot of water to help avoid swollen feet but since I’m near labor now my face has swollen quite a bit, I hear it’s normal as labor approaches, but I’d drink tons of water, it helps.
You need to go to Dr and tell And show you could be very sick
I had major swelling and there was absolutely nothing I could do about it. My poor hands went numb and it took 8w postpartum to regain feeling. My doctor said it was just something I had to deal with. It was so uncomfortable.
Be. Very. Careful. With. That
Watch your sodium intake
Currently going through this, I ignored it for a week thinking it was normal and today at my check up my dr had me sent for fetal monitoring due to high blood pressure and my swelling she wants to make sure it’s not pre eclampsia and if it is to catch it early.
Avoid salt. Drink water.
Talk to your dr. They’ll be able to help
You need some salt but if you really like to shake it on after the food is cooked just remember that every grain of salt holds 4 times it’s weight in water.
Don’t eat salty foods.
Lots of water to flush body
Cranberry juice is a diuretic.
Elevate feet as much as possible. I had an office job. I used to turn over my trash can under my desk and put my feet up.
The worse is the5-7after
Ice will help soothe the feet/ankles
Massage. My husband would rub my feet and legs every day in an upwards motion and it helped a lot
Have they checked you for underlying issues?
