Are these normal period symptoms or could I be pregnant?

I’ve been on the pill for just over two years; we have never had any issues and always have unprotected sex. I never normally get my period on this pill, and if I do, it is very irregular (I checked with doctors, and they said that’s normal). My issue is I’m supposed to be coming on this week, but I haven’t (which is fine), but I’m having all these symptoms: Extreme heartburn and nausea, slight cramping, headaches & feeling tired quite often. I did a pregnancy test a few days ago, and it came back negative. I’m planning to do another one in a week or so, but has anyone else ever experienced this? This is completely new for me - I suffer from heartburn sometimes but never as frequently as this. I will contact my doctor if this continues for more than a week. But has anyone experienced the same thing?

I got pregnant on birth control pills …it took me a bit to realize i was pregnant but i too had a lot of nausea and other symptoms I’d go get a blood test just to be sure you are /are not pregnant. Its not good to take the pill if you are pregnant it can hurt the baby.

I didn’t get pregnant on the pill but those are spot on my symptoms with my second baby. I “knew” three days before my missed period and had a positive test the day before my period was due. However, I also have PCOS and on the pill occasionally had those symptoms you described simply due to hormones being off, usually after a cyst ruptured. If in doubt get in with the doctor. If you are pregnant you want to get off the pill ASAP.

I have been told if your on birth control it can give you a false negative on pregnancy tests, and those are all symptoms of pregnancy. I’d would definitely go in and get it confirmed or ultrasound done.

Being on the pill it’s not really a period, it’s a withdraw bleed from lack of hormones. Have you been on any other medications lately? Any antibiotics?

I got pregnant during quarantine & never missed a pill. Here we are about to deliver in 3 days!

if you havent come on in a week do another test or you can get an appointment with your gp to do a pregnany blood test

If it came back negative, I’d say you’re not. Any additional “stress” going on. Keep in mind there’s good and bad stress.

It’s very possible to get pregnant on the pill. Might just be too early to show up yet.

I got pregnant on the pill

Could be implantation bleeding if you don’t start your period I’d retest in 2-3 weeks I’ve known several people who’ve got pregnant on the pill it is possible especially if you’ve been on it for two years an these are new symptoms

I only dealt with the heartburn when I was pregnant, but all the other symptoms I’ve definitely experienced when getting my period. The fatigue for me is killer and only just started about 2 yrs ago.

I’m very similar in that I rarely get my period with my pill; yet I still get the symptoms! It’s possible your body/ hormones are changing and you’re getting different symptoms. But, I would definitely check in with your doctor to discuss!

Try getting a dollar store pregnancy test. Their tests normally pick up at a lower hormone level. Clear blue requires a higher level of hcg so you could be pregnant just not far enough along for it to pick up on it yet.

Dollar store tests are the best!!! Its gotta be the pink dye ones though. Wait a couple days and try again. My first and third born kidos are both pill babies

I’d talk to your Dr. Birth control can cause a lot of problems. It may not be pregnancy but it could be more serious.

I’ve been pregnant twice, the first I had cravings 2 weeks before anything else and then night time nausea, then tested positive a few days later. the second pregnancy I had no symptoms other than missed period then hair loss and acne around 10weeks. everyone is different but I would retest in a week to be sure, or go to your Dr and get a blood test done, they’re more accurate

Definitely re test again in a few days, or even have a blood test done and talk with the doctor. I have the Mirena and I get pregnancy symptoms every month right before my period, I’ve just learned that’s my body’s sign that my time is coming. My boobs swell and hurt, I get bloated, nauseous, sometimes have vomiting, severe heart burn/acid reflux and sometimes cravings anywhere from 2-5 days.

Honestly for me Pregnancy symptoms and period symptoms are nearly identical. The biggest difference for pregnancy was I was way more emotional.
