Did anyone else take anxiety meds while pregnant?

I’m pregnant, and once I found out, I quit taking my prescription for anxiety. I know it’s not recommended. Recently after talking with my dr, I feel I need to go back on, but I wanted to know if anyone else has taken anxiety meds during pregnancy. And if so, was the baby healthy? Any issues related to the meds?

They put me on an antidepressant that helped my anxiety because dependent on what prescription it is, it could be bad for the baby

I did! Everything was good! Took buspirone

If your taking a benzo I’d stop because the baby will go thru withdrawals.

Dr kept me on a low dose of buispar which seems to help a little

I take Zoloft and my doctor told me it was more dangerous for me to be off it than stay on. There are meds that are safe to take while pregnant and little to no risk to baby. Your doctor will let you know of any risks.

I was taking Zoloft through out my pregnancy. I just had to lower my dose since I was on a higher dose before getting pregnant.

I took Lexapro and my daughter is 17 months and has a brain defect and has seizures. I’m not saying that’s why she has them but doctors are looking into it.

I currently take busipar as needed, 22 weeks pregnant. You just need to find one that is safe to take while pregnant, definitely talk to your OB.

I know some one who took anxiety meds during pregnancy. Baby was healthy but on the small side at birth. Around 5lbs.

I took prozac and my baby was born 8 pounds and perfectly healthy

I have taken them w all 6 of my pregnancies. The worst health issue any were born w was one had acid reflux as a baby and outgrew it before their 1st birthday. It just happens, wasn’t caused by the meds I took.

Ob will precribe a new one that won’t affect baby that’s what my on done and told my primary to keep me on it tell I delivered but ob wound up having to refill my prescription each month be cause my primary wouldn’t

I take Prozac 20mg once a day and buspar 15mg twice a day.

I was on Prozac and told it was safe… our son went through withdrawals and has forms of autism… I didn’t take it with any of our other kids and none of them had any medical issues

I have struggled mightily this pregnancy and finally told my dr I thought i needed something. She said she would prescribe it but that I would need to come off of it 4 weeks before delivery due to potential WD symptoms. Had I been brave and asked for something earlier in my pregnancy I would have absolutely gone on meds but I am 33 weeks already so it seemed pointless for me. Talk with your doctor and talk with the prescribing dr as well! See what they think collectively and decide what’s right for you.
