Has anyone been through this and carried baby til term?

I need some peace of mind. I’m currently 35 weeks, four days pregnant with my 3rd little boy. A few days ago, I woke up in labor and went to the hospital. All the nurses and my doctor thought the baby was coming right then, but thankfully labor stopped on its own. I got two steroid shots to help his lungs develop and stayed the night to be monitored. When I was discharged Saturday, I 4cm dilated, and 50% effaced and told to just stay in bed as much as possible. My first boy was born at 34+5, and he spent 19 days in the NICU 45 minutes away, and I am terrified of having to go through that again. Has anyone gone through something similar and kept the baby in until term? Our goal is 37weeks. Thank you

I had that with all my kids. I went into labor every other week and stayed in the hospital 3-4 days each and at 36 weeks they let me have my kids  it’ll be ok mama just stay calm and try to relax I know it’s hard with other kids but you can do this

Yes just listen to what they say and relax as much as you can even with the other kids and try not to get stressed out

I went in 2 months before my daughter’s due date and they thought I was gonna have her. I was 4cm and 80%. Managed to keep her in until about a month before she was due

Not the same but. To reassure you a little.
My first was born 35+4 days No nicu stay at all, my third was just born last week 36 weeks, no nicu stay either !

Not trying to be weird, but I don’t think they should have ever sent you home at 4cm. My hospital makes us stay there at 3cm no matter what. I went from 4cm to 10 in 2 hours at 36 weeks.

I went into labor at 31 weeks, stayed in the hospital for 11 days (got steriods and amniocentesis) sent home. I was told I could have her that day or on my due date. I had her a week and a half later at 36 weeks.
The steroids are the game changer. Without those, you could bet on a NICU stay but if they let you leave its because the lungs are matured (because of the steroids) and will be okay to be born whenever it should happen.
My daughter is now 16.

I went into preterm labor at 24 weeks, 28 weeks and 32 weeks with my second and I got that shot each time. I was induced at 39 weeks with him.

Yes almost the same thing happened to me at 36 weeks with my last son…they gave me meds and labor stopped. I didn’t end up having him until almost 39 weeks.

My son was a twin and we lost his sister at 23wks. I went through on and off again labour until 35 +2 when my son was born emergency c-section due to suffering a uterine rupture. My son spent one night in NICU and was thankfully able to come home with us but he was also very large for being that early. He was already 7.5lbs and was 22.5 inches long

The steroid shots help, I had my son and daughter at 36 weeks and they where fine, left the hospital with me. But I got shots of steroids.

All my babies have been preterm even with progesterone shots and steroids.
31, 32, 33, 34/5(stillborn) 32, 32, and 34.

Two of my kiddos were born at 35 weeks and went home with me. One was 35 w 0 days and the other 35 w 5 days. Their weights were 5lbs 13oz and 6 lbs 9 oz. they did not get shots but I did with my first at 37 weeks. They do help a lot. Every single day at this stage is huge and improves the chances of them being healthy enough to go home. I had to go on full bed rest and drink lots of water. A bottle of water an hour. And absolutely no stress. Easier
Said then done. But it’s possible. My first I went into labour at 31 weeks and got the shots and had her 37 weeks.

I can’t guarantee you wont go into labor again but I can offer hope of baby not needing a NICU stay. My daughter was born at 35+5 and was perfectly healthy and spent no time in the NICU, she stayed with me in my room after being checked briefly. I had no steroid shots at all.

My oldest was born at 36 weeks. He didn’t need any intervention. He came home with me 24 hours later. My middle was full term and spent 3 weeks in the nicu. My youngest I sat at almost 4 for 3 weeks. All pregnancy are different.

I went into preterm labor at 34 weeks at 5 cm dilated . they stopped labor and sent me home. Gave birth 2 weeks later at 36 weeks and went home 2 days later with healthy baby

Stay in bed, they shouldn’t have sent you home, 4cm is active labor

20 years ago I went into labor early. They stopped the labor, gave me drugs for development & sent me home the next morning. He was born at 41 weeks, no health issues. Healthy adult today. Take a deep breath momma. I know it’s scary. He’ll be fine.

I went into labor with my 2nd daughter at 30 weeks. Contracting every 6 min 3 cm etc. I was also given the steroid shots. She stayed in until 39+3. I was only on partial bed rest. I still continued to work. Where I was on my feet a lot but I took it as easy as I could. I worked in a warehouse and sat in a rolly chair and rolled around a lot lol

Had my son at 36 weeks and no niccu stay. I was emergency induced because I had pre eclampsia.
